New Dad, Old Dad....

Being @FortyPlus and a new dad, is both scary and exciting.

First thing that comes to mind is, am I fit enough to do this?

Not that the answer matters much, you're in it, so adapt.

I tend to think I'm fitter than most 75 year olds....but I'm 45....

The thing which tests me most is time-management. Having a boy-toddler and a girl-threenager , is bloody hard work, and if you've read my other posts, you'll know that I am also a full-time Psychology degree student, which requires a bit of reading ....and.... erm....concentration?

Medically speaking, we (guys) are not "on a clock", so we can keep reproducing until we meet our maker.
We also age faster than women, and die younger.

The tendency to look after everyone else, as an older dad is high, but the rule is, look after number one. If you don't look after yourself first, you're no good to anybody.
Your partner will be exhausted after, pregnancy and childbirth and all that which prevails, but you too will be stressed if you are not at the top of your game.()

Diet, Rest and Exercise is the order of the day. Be prepared for all that those little soldiers will throw at you, and they will...
