The Easy Way Of Converting Your Social Media Followers Into Customers

in #customers7 years ago

Got a sizeable social media following that’s just sitting there online? Surely, there is money in it. In this article, we will take a look at an untapped way of making money online while leveraging your social media followers especially.

When a social media follower becomes a customer, the next step is for them to become a loyal customer, isn't it? From there, you can’t lose. But unless you get wise to how to do this, your social media platforms are a case of you leaving money on the table for someone else to nab.

Of course, social media is insanely powerful in 2017. It’s where over two billion of us are everyday. Moreover, we certainly don’t mind spending online: a third of millennials – a key social media demographic – make most of their purchases on their home computer, while over 15% of them make most of their purchases on their smartphone and hand devices.

But how do you turn your social media followers into customers? Let’s take a look at the real deal.

  1. Become An Affiliate

Amazon Affiliates is just one of many affiliate programs you can sign up to
Affiliate marketing isn’t dying out anytime soon. In fact, it never will. Why? Because it is hugely important to brands who are much bigger than you, but who need you to help spread their word via social media platforms.

How does this work? Affiliate marketing involves a brand using you as an affiliate marketer to sell their front-end product to your social media following.

You receive a slice of the commission (it can range from 20% to 200%), and you take home that profit when someone buys from the link you posted.

What is a front-end product? A front-end product is the first product in a sales funnel. It’s used as bait to get people interested in a brand and their products and service. It’s affordable and leads customers onto the next stage of the sales funnel – the back-end offer where prices shoot up.

A front-end product is essential to brands because it gets people interested in them and builds up trust so that the brand can then start selling premium products to folk.

A brand doesn’t make much of a profit with the front-end product, which is why sometimes your commission can be as high as 200%. This is to encourage you to go to great lengths to make a sale and direct customers to the brand. And with a commission that high, why wouldn’t you become an affiliate?

All you have to do is sign up to a relevant affiliate program and start promoting products to your social media following.

Make sure these products are legit and valuable – ideally, you are using them too and are able to give a solid review. Otherwise, you will damage your reputation by hoisting rubbish products on your followers.

  1. Sell Your Own Information Products

Information products like eBooks make perfect sense because you don’t even need an inventory

Affiliate marketing is a great way to make relatively easy cash because you don’t need to create anything yourself. All you need to do is promote other people’s stuff.

However, the commissions won’t always be as high as 200%. They might often be as low as $20. If you’d prefer to take home all the profits, you can create your own information products.

An information product – which can also be referred to as a digital product – is any one of the following:

eBook
Cheat Sheet
Online course
Video tutorial
Audiobook
Webinar
To create an information product that people will download and enjoy, you first have to grow your knowledge on a particular niche. This is the easy bit. All you need to do is spend some time reading books, listening to audio programs, and taking a few online courses (if necessary).

Alternatively, if you don’t have the time for all that, you can outsource the creation to an expert in a specific field.

I’m going to assume that, since you have a social media following that you’re looking to convert into customers, you already have a decent reputation. If your reputation could be better, spend some time positioning yourself as an expert on a particular subject. Post regularly, give stuff away for free, and produce lots of content.

Then, sell your own information products that solve a particular problem your followers have.

To make sure you don’t solve the wrong problem (or a problem that doesn’t even exist), engage with your followers and ask them first for their biggest pain points.

Another cool tip? Leverage Facebook live videos as much as possible, as these put a face and voice to your brand, which will help to build trust in you.

  1. Create Your Own Group

Facebook groups are a great way to position yourself as an authority

Social media is a great place to interact with people, but it can be really noisy. Twitter has had a “noise” problem since 2015, with even high-profile Twitter users finding it hard to get noticed.

The easiest way to avoid not being seen by your followers and turning them into customers? Create a Facebook group.

The best way to grow a Facebook group is organically. If you incentivize your current members to add more members, you might end up with a load of disengaged members who won’t be buying from you.

Instead, focus for now on asking your current followers to join your niche group, and then offer a crazy amount of value.

As the creator of the group, you’ll be the head honcho right from the start. You’ll automatically be the authority figure and expert. All you have to do is keep over-delivering on the value front, invite users to post their own content (which has to meet your approval) before you can eventually leverage your group and start selling to them.

There, you can sell information products and…

  1. Become A Coach

The great thing about being a coach is that it gives you the chance to speak to people on the phone or Skype. This is important because, for someone to buy from you, they need to trust you first.

Words on a screen are okay for building rapport – but nothing builds rapport like hearing someone’s enthusiasm and positivity.

Many people are moving into online coaching and webinars. It’s a lucrative business, and all you need to do is talk to your customers over the phone or Skype about a subject you know inside out.

If you’re struggling to get clients at first, it might be a good idea to give away your information products for free. Then, when people have used them and can clearly see how much value they add to their lives, a small percentage of them will be willing to pay you to coach them.

To wrap up, however you decide to monetize your social media following, you won’t be monetizing anyone unless they trust you first. A prospect might be in love with your product, but they won’t be paying you even $100 for a coaching call or an eBook until they trust you.

The great thing? It’s easy to build trust on social media. Focus on over-delivering lots of free content, post smiley pictures of yourself, answer Facebook live Q & A’s, and position yourself as an expert.
