I'm sure you've all heard of @curie. If you didn't, check out their website http://curiesteem.com. In this post I want to show you, how I created my #curielogo for the Curie Logo Design Contest.

Personally I just like the letter "C" (as in Curie). So, the first thing I did was looking at different Cs: bold, thin, condensed, italic, with serifs, hand-drawn... I did that for almost an hour, hoping for inspiration. I just had the feeling, that starring at those letters would lead to something. Than I decided, that a puristic geometrical design would be the way to go.

Geometrically speaking, a "C" is just a circle with an gap. Now, I wanted to fill that gap. If "C" stands for Curie, then the gap should be filled – with what? What is @curie about? What is steemit about? It's about content created by people. Interesting, original, personal content, created by real, passionate people who want to be part of the community. So, if "C" is Curie, the Community, then I should close the circle by adding one person. This person is part of the community, but still an individual. It represents the whole community and makes the world go round.

In Illustrator, I draw a circle, cut out a "slice of pizza", rounded the ends and filled the gap with a red dot, representing all of you, all of the content creators.

Here are my first drafts:
