Hey! Have Ya Met... October 30, 2018

Often we get stuck in a rut and tend to only look at what is in our feed; this causes us to miss some amazing posts. What's even worse, we miss those introduction posts of new people who are not getting a good number of upvotes. We decided, because we have felt the frustration of low votes on our introduction, we were going to introduce two people we thought were deserving of your attention. This will be a daily project so keep watching and see who's out there!

So without further ado, have ya met...

This secondary science teacher truly has a story to tell. He plans on using this platform to share his experiences during the Biafran War of 1967 to 1970 to encourage everyone to stand against all war. His introduction post has one of these experiences and it will definitely leave you wanting to take that stand.

The first thing that caught my attention was Jose's intresting decision of introduction photo format. It was unique and surprising. Secondly, I noticed how well he had written about his love for photography. I think we will need to keep an eye open on his future posts!

Hey! Have ya met @ahmedrazakhan2?

@ahmedrazakhan2 made a very simple but interesting introduction post. At first I thought it was poetry, but then realized he took a very simplistic way of introducting himself. Football, gaming, and photography are his interests. I think he will do well here.

Thank you so much for joining Scott and me in this endeavor. We wanted to do our part in helping new people get their introductions noticed. There really isn't a criteria at this point; we are, however, looking for those who seem to be trying to have good content, but have low upvotes and low payout. We understand how they must be feeling because our introduction post was not received well at all with only 12 upvotes and $0.10 in payout. Both Scott and I were very frustrated because we knew we had a very good quality post with little reaction while other "trending" introductions were a poor quality photo and little verbiage. We were so discouraged and heartbroken; this should not happen to anyone. Therefore, we are on the lookout for these people and will do our best to bring them to your attention.

Cool idea. Though I’m not sure why people get so frustrated when they don’t get a lot of upvotes on a site they just joined. Every little bit helps though.

It's the fact that the trending page shows up and you see these new introductions that are huge in payout and have all these upvote and most of them are crap. You have an expectation and it is so frustrating when you don't understand why your real quality post isn't being noticed. What they don't realize is alot of those huge payout intros are being boosted by bots.

It's just frustrating and I wanted to do my part.

Thank you so much for commenting. I really appreciate it. It helps to know I'm not just spinning my wheels.

I just try to remind people when they get frustrated that eventually they'll find a real community on Steemit and they won't have to worry about what is on the trending pages. I think if people find tools like SteemPeak and SteemAuto, the Gina Bot etc... they can find the posts they really want to see. It's a shame that the trending posts can be a lot of garbage, but that's how things kind of go in real life... the people with the most money to throw around make a lot of annoying noise.

Another reminder is that it's not easy to get likes on Facebook or any of the major social networks, either. And even if you get 100 likes on Facebook, they're all worth $0.00. So be glad for every $.001 vote you get, because every one is $.001 more than on Facebook.

Exactly. There really isn't way to tell new people this unless there are people visiting all of the introduction posts. I try to comment as much as possible on every introduction post I visit.

So true!!!!!!
haha

Thank you for introduced me, here in your post

You are welcome. Hope it helped.
