Curie is a community project with a mission to discover and reward new content creators, and give them the exposure that they need. Everyday, over a hundred curators from around the world select hidden gems from new authors. Curie aims to provide rewards to these deserving authors whether they are writers, artists, chefs, photographers, videographers, and more.

This might sound like a dumb question... but I keep seeing people ask to be voted on as a witness. What is a witness? Very new to the community (just 3 weeks in).
Hi @karensuestudios, witnesses are a group of Steem operators (anyone around the world can choose to be) that support the entire Steem network's computing and data resources. In essence, there's no one single party owning the entire network, which is why it's uncensorable. Witnesses are there to keep the network's ledger truthful, so users can vote on the witnesses they trust to get the job done.

Running software on their servers. This is a piece from 11 months ago, might have some outdated info, but it's pretty much what it is. It's a pretty awesome piece of tech :)

On your Steemit Wallet -> Permissions
But remember only to keep private keys to yourself!
Steemit Wallet -> Permissions -> the one named posting (and of course not the private key for posting)

It's a really great way to give the needed exposure to people, especially for the new ones. I guess those who put in hard work into their posts will eventually get the exposure :)
