We start of today's Author Showcase with an Open Mic entry from @lk666. It is a new song that will be appearing on his next album. The great thing about featuring @lk666 is that he not only creates his own music, but he helps others do the same and also helps them get their music out to the world with his Circle of Death Records. We recently featured @rockchickjen's band Sacrifice the Truth whose new single My Wings was released through Circle of Death here in the Showcase. CANADA Adventures Part3
(BANFF HIKING, lake louise, mirror lake & lake agnes)

Next up, photographer @martaesperanza takes us on an amazing journey to Banff. We will follow along with her to the pristine waters of Lake Louise, Mirror Lake, and Lake Agnes as she makes her way up the mountain.

As always the photos she captures are stunningly beautiful. They include amazing shots of the lakes, the forest, the many views of the Rockies, and even a little chipmunk friend. To the right is a shot of the aptly named Mirror Lake. I always love photos that utilize reflections like this, and this lake made it easy to use the effect.

Nearing the top of the mountain she even got to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate made from the crystal waters of Lake Agnes before heading back down before dark.

Next we have some of the most unique art you are going to find on the Steem Blockchain. Every one of @achristopherart's pieces are so different from almost anything I have seen.

As one commenter on the post said, " I can get lost in your drawings" - @donnadavisart

It is so true. You can just sit and stare at his art for hours. There are so many little details mixed in all around each piece. This piece is one of his favorite subjects, "the aquatic life". Not only is there the main fish, but there are what looks like hundreds of fish eggs all around. Each one filled with a unique little creature.

Behind the Scenes Tour at NASA's
Johnson Space Center Part 1: Mission Control

What little kid doesn't dream of being an astronaut or going into space at some point? Well, @toddrjohnson was no different. As a young child he watched the Moon landing and became obsessed with space. Fast forward nearly 50 years and @toddrjohnson finally made it to Mission Control!

Even though he has lived near the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas for quite some time, he never visited. He recently made it there with his family for a special "behind the scenes" tour led by his neighbor Chad who works there. He got to see, and shared photos of the International Space Station's Mission Control, the Orion Mission Control which was in the middle of a training session for the planned manned mission to Mars, and even the original Apollo 18 Mission Control center. Unfortunately the Apollo 18 one was under renovations so we dont get to see it in its full glory, but it is still very cool to see.

Black Star

We finish up this edition of the Author Showcase with a great fictional story. One of an ancient protector who lives on and on.

The story comes to us from @f3nix's weekly Finish the Story contest. Entrants are given the first half of the story and tasked with writing their own unique endings to the story. This particular ending to "Black Star" is written by @gwilberiol who takes the story in an interesting direction I didn't really see coming.

@gwilberiol shared the following with me -

I like games, stories, and games about stories. Playing games is how humans experiment, practice and learn; telling stories is how humans analyze, teach and remember. And they're both fun ways to waste our limited supply of evenings. Here's hoping the stuff I write will be mildly interesting, and the advice I give, moderately useful.
