Nahanni By Float Plane: Experiencing One of Canada's Beautiful and Remote National Parks

Where to go; where not to go? When in doubt, choose one of Canada's most beautiful National Parks: Nahanni. In this post, Canadian landscape photographer, Derek shares an exciting tour experience of a photogenic part of northern Canada.

From sleeping in a jeep, to riding on a float plane, to offending the tummy gods with the wrong meal, and dealing with unpredictable weather, Derek's narrative is compelling; and the generous use of lush dreamy images combine to make this one of the best adventure pieces you will read on the internet.

"It's only the opportunities we pass up that we regret later. I won't regret this one," reflected Derek.

Derek Kind is an Ontario photographer who takes pictures of pretty things in nature, be they mountains, the sea, animals or cityscapes.

Introduction to my Book "Family Not Issued"

In this very emotional introduction to a coming book, "Family Not Issued," the author (or co-author?) recounts her experiences married to a veteran. The extended times away from family with every deployment, having to be affected first hand by war (not just as an opinionated social commentator), and the resultant family complications, anxiety, PTSD and what have you. It makes a very emotional read, one that fills you with eagerness for what the chapters of the book will contain. It sure takes a whole lot of bravery to tell a story with a strong voice like Faith's.

Here is an excerpt from this introduction post that offers an insight into the author's goal with this project:

"I hope this helps you or your loved ones learn a few things to help cope with the challenges that are a natural part of the military life. I hope if you are struggling with similar issues, that this will aid in finding a source of relief, or at least find where to jump start your journey to a better life with your Veteran." — Faith

Explore the beauty of Preston Palace as shown from the creative perspective of Dutch Photographer and steemian, Ruben Cress. "Preston Palace is one of the most well-known hotels in Overijssel," Ruben writes. In this post he details the creative process of executing the photo assignment. The final outcome, as with all of Ruben's photography (be it portrait, landscape, or product subjects) is excellent. His perfectionist approach shines through in this interior detailing.

Ruben is a charming character and his blog let off that vibe. He wants to "use photography as a tool to connect with other people."

I would just say Darren is perfection. His music is soothing to the soul, his songwriting layers thoughts with such beautiful rhythm. I asked Darren to tell us about himself and here's what he shared with me:

"Darren Claxton is a Songwriter, Musician and Producer of his own music, from Derbyshire UK. The music he writes is often heartfelt acoustic indie folk with a sprinkling of rock and country influences, with an occasional world music flavour as heard on his track ‘Dragonfly’. But most of all, it's his passive emotive thoughts and feelings that are delivered through that soothing vocal, and intricate guitar playing of his."

He shares his music on Choon. a music streaming platform and digital payment ecosystem, that Darren actively promotes.

SketchTravel in Portugal

"Mr. Somebody" is a Seattle-based artist who shares his travel experiences through a very unique medium: sketches. His featured post is a masterpiece clean line art, and an excellent written log of his adventure in Portugal, with a 8 hour London layover. I stalked him a bit and I can say with authority that he and his wife have Japan lined up for their next trip in the fall.

There is a lot to take in: Monsaraz Castle, mountain village of Monsanto, Barcos, Porto and more.
