In a sense, when you leave a quality comment and people vote on it, you can be rewarded for your effort. I don't know what I think about moving beyond the current voting system, but I like your idea of being able to label a post as funny, or this post taught me something, etc. That could possibly be a nice and helpful addition to Steemit.
