Dear minnows,
The defination of quality content you should bother yourself about should be that it means something to you, for if it means something to you then, it will mean something to the people you mean something to. If I don't mean anything to you because you don't know me or understand what I am talking about or why I am thinking the way I am think then you will think that my content is complete trash. That is because you are not from "my tribe". We don't have common interests. FIND YOUR TRIBE or BRING YOUR TRIBE TO THE BLOCKCHAIN. This is the ultimate steem formula. Do you feel that confusion that sets up in your mind when steamians start talking of quality content? That illusion that makes you believe that you will start earning hundreds of dollars once you start making posts with enough quality content. They may not agree with me but there is no such thing as quality content on social media. Just as beauty is subjective and greatly differ from culture to culture and from civilization to civilization.

So too quality content depends on the relationship between the authors and their curators. Many are trying to force their standards on others. But social media is suppose to be free from such concepts. Especially decentralized social media. Feel free to express yourself. Express your true self.
If you love video games then make posts about it. There are millions around the world like you, FIND YOUR TRIBE!
If you love a certain photo that has sentimental value to you, post it even on steepshot and try to share as much about it as you can, there are always people all over the world who will relate to that very strongly.

There are a few points I am trying to make here.

Don't get discouraged that your posts are not being recognized for the great content that they are. Keep posting what matters to you.
Upvote what you like and ignore what you don't like. Its simply not for you. Leave it alone for people who like things like that to find them. DON'T FLAG IT SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND IT.
FIND YOUR TRIBE. People with the same interests. Create strong bonds by relating to people and making friends. Just don't be a stalker. Try only to be friends with people who are trying to be friends with you.
Above all BRING YOUR TRIBE TO THE BLOCKCHAIN. Encourage everyone you know to join steem. Show them how and register them, help them grow on the platform. Because you already have a relationship out of the blockchain, you understand yourselves better.
Say for example I wrote "ENTER CORN" next to an old photo of a barren field.
And that is all of the post.
Outside "my tribe" some minnows and some over zealous and judgemental dolphins and whales may look at it and frown at it in all kinds of unkind comments and may even be flagged by many.
But to "my tribe" i could just have made someone's day.
I could just have made someone cry tears of joy, lost in deep thoughts like a hypnotic command.
I could have just given someone the encouragement they needed to submount a great obstacle in their life.
I could have just given someone closure.
This is to say that no one can judge another man's audience. They alone know what they see or hear from him.
If steemit is a decentralized social media then we should stop all the cyber bullying and self proclaimed judges, juries and executioners. Self proclaimed priests and moral instructors all in the name of having the blockchain's best interests at heart.
Please encourage yourself and others! And all will be alright with all being right.
Enjoy your stay on steem.
