Rapai competition in Lhokseumawe city

Here, i would like to share you about a unique thing in Aceh province. Aceh is located in the west of Indonesia and has beautiful cultures and some historical places. Here, i want to tell you about Rapai (tradisional drum) which is an a legacy from our ancestors.

Rapai is a tradisional drum which is played together in a group that consists of around 30 players. The competion of Rapai is held in some special ceremony such as Aceh Fair and other great days celebration.

This competion is held to know the loudest and strongest sound of rapai and also to get the most cohessive group. So, the winner of this competion must be the most cohessive rapai group and the strongest sound of group.

This competion is judged by three eldest men who are the expert of rapai. This tradition has been running for almost a Century in Aceh. We can say that Rapai competion is a folk party. Now, Rapai has been legalized by the Government of Aceh province as a symbol of togetherness and strenght because only strong men can play or.

The Players of rapai are stronger men in society because Rapai is played or heated almost 6 hours. Usually, after rapai played for almost two hours, there Will be some attractions performed black black magicians who actually out with dangerous attractions like cutting hand or piercing the body using a knife but they are stiil ok because of magic.

In Lhokseumawe city, rapai competion gas been running for two weeks and is going on semi final..
