Global climate change is an impending catastrophe! We already know why - people who continue to use fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gas.
We already know some of the effects of global warming - the melting of polar ice caps, rising ocean temperatures, prolonged drought, the spread of dangerous epidemics, massive floods, coral bleaching and big storm surges. We also know who will be most affected - coastal States, Island States and less developed regions such as Southeast Asia.
Over the years we have been continuously releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere by using fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas and petroleum. This has led to an increase in the natural blanket of the world, which leads to rising world climate temperatures, and unpredictable climate change is also deadly. Greenpeace believes that only a systematic and radical step in greenhouse gas emissions reductions can prevent climate change that could result in more damage to the world's ecosystems and the inhabitants that live there.
