Hi 😊 I'm a person who loves various kinds of food. Although I eat meat quite often, sometimes I want to make some vegetarian dish and one of my favourite foods are bean cutlets. In my case they're vegetarian, not vegan, because I use an egg while making them, but vegans can skip this one ingredient. For these cutlets you'll need

  • 250g of white beans
  • one egg
  • bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 big onion - I used red onion
  • 1-2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • curry powder
  • black pepper
  • chilli powder

First thing you're going to do is to soke and soften the beans overnight. Just place the beans in a pot and pour some water to it.

When the beans are softened, you have to cook them for 90 to 120 minutes. They must become soft. Add one tablespoon of salt.

When they're soft, mash them. Then add an egg and some bread crumbs. These ingredients make it easier to form cutlets.

Grate peeled onion and add it to mashed beans. Add garlic cloves - I add one or two, mashing it.

Add spices - curry powder, pepper and chilli powder. I like my cutlets to be spicy, but you'll add the amount you wish to use :)

Now, mix all the ingredients with your hand. I always use some latex or vinyl glove to do it. One reason is strictly hygienical and the second one is practical - the presence of curry powder will make your hand and nails yellow ;)

After that form cutlets. Coat them in bread crumbs.

After that just fry them. Few minutes is enough. I use sunflower oil for frying them, because it's the most common oil in my country, but you can also use olive oil or any other kind of oil you can hit to high temperatures.

You can now enjoy your cutlets. You can eat them together with some salad, as I did recently.
