Where Is The Farm . . .
I have been asked just how 'rural' are you? The nearest village is about 1 km away. It's very small, and only has one road that goes through it. There are 2 mom/pop shops in town, operated from their home. You can get the basics - water, ice, eggs, meat, and such - but if you want more then you go 30 km to the bigger town.
How Do You Get To Town . . .
That depends. Lol
That is the main road we use for the car. It's only wide enough for one vehicle, which usually isn't a problem since none of our neighbors own one. However, don't be in a hurry as the road, basically, sucks! Lol
This is the shortest way into town. It is nothing more than a well traveled path on top of the dykes for the rice paddy's. Suitable only for motorbikes, walking, and water buffaloes - which you often encounter along the way.
During the rainy season neither way is good. Yes, you can get a motorbike down them, but you better be a damn good rider (which most Thai's are)! We park the car in town and walk down the trail to the farm. Makes shopping a challenge, getting everything home. But that's what this is for . . .
Every family around here has one. You use it move whatever from point A to B.
We use it to gather produce, haul feed, various supplies, the uses are unlimited. You will see people pulling them behind a motorbike going into the city.
So, Am I Rural . . .
I'll let you decide. Pop in a comment (which I will upvote) below and let me know your thoughts. Thanks for reading!
Best Regards

Oh! And don't tell me that's the water main lying next to the road, cuz I might be like, 'I thought so'. XD
Lol. Nah, that's a irrigation line for some cattle feed the neighbor had. They are actually picking that up now.
I have lived in the country and the cities. I've used an outhouse and remember party lines on rotary phones. I'm that old! Lol
I'll take what I have here anyday.
Thanks for the comments!
Rural make the best neighbors, so you better be! I remember when I was a boy, being at a neighbor's house that literally ran off ONE 15amp circuit and everyone sitting on the couches in the living room watching the television and passing around a mason jar with cream in it that we were shaking into butter for the host. XD
