That Old Cliche, Still Holds True

There is not a business on Earth that was built in a day. Even the Crypto Whales do not enjoy over night success. This is an illusion. It appears that someone has achieved success overnight, but this is false. Those that enjoy overnight success, spent years building their brand. The celebrities that are on television, and the internet spent years of their life, and faced horrible rejection, to achieve their level of success.

Let us shift our attention to the whales of Hive. Not a single 1 of them acheived their success overnight. It just appears that way becasue we normally do not hear of them until they have acheived some amount of fame. The illusion of fame blinds us to the time they spent, the funds they invested, and all of the other Hive members they have engaged with.

Wouldn't You Be Insulted?

Let's jump 4 years in the future. You are a massive Hive Whale. Everytime their is a drop, you score big. You Splinterlands Business is successful and netting $150 daily. All is good in your world. You have plenty of tokens to stake, so your upvotes are huge. You have worked hard, sacrificed much, but you have arrived!!

Then this new account comes around making all kinds of noise about becoming a whale in 6 months. This would annoy anyone. We all know that you must show up daily and engage, create, and curate. Nothing happens over night. Anytime someone thinks they can take a business and turn it into an overnight success is creating illusions.

All of the Online Experts agree, your first 100 peices of content will not be very good but that is okay. So my first articles are going to be stinkers compared to my 1500th article, the same for videos, and anything else I can create.

I would like to use eBay as an example. When I first started to get real serious about eBay back in 2015, everything was such a struggle, it took forever to find products, then photograph them, then write and post the listing. Not to mention all of the unforseen shipping mishaps.

Now it is 2021 and my reselling business has stood the test of time. Now 6 years later, I find loads of products, in a fraction of the time. Plus I can prep, post, and ship all of my products 5 to 1 compared to when I first started. So now it seems like I can go out and make all kinds of money with very little effort. Sure that is true if you are will to dismiss the previous 6 years of my life.

Before the #ctpcontent 30 day content challenge it never occured for me to be here everyday. I never would have made it a priority, and I never would have notice the rewards of just showing up 15 days in a row. I never would have realized the business potential of the BlockChain. If my first 100 articles are not that good, then I should get through them as soon as possible, like for instance in the next three months.

Do Not Concern Yourself With The Wallets of Others

Ever hear the grass is always greener. This is an old cliche about trying to keep up with the Jone's. If I compare my self to a Hive member that has been active for the past three years, frustration will rule my actions. Imagine trying to keep up with @(Hive.Whale) that has been on the blockchain since before Hive. I could break my bank and still not come close.

Frustration, and the wanting to quit, then impending soul crushing depression, will kill your business, if you set unreachable goals. This is a loaded question, if I asked you to prep yourself for the Boston Marathon, and gave you two weeks to train, could you do it?

Imagine how much physical conditioning is involved with finishing a 26 mile foot race let alone placing in the top ten runners. Not just the workouts but how long they must have trained 1, 2, or 3 years before they could finish a marathon. Have you ever seen the people that finish the marathons, they are inpain, bloody nipples, wobbly legs, some even pass out and urinate on themselves.

Nobody Is Born With The Ability To Run Marathons

This is important, tell a marathon runner that it is easy for them because of whatever, and stand buy for the coming punch. They tend to insult easily when you tell them they are genetically gifted for running because they are skinny. I did this and the guy punched me he was so insulted, and schooled me to this simple fact.

My friend shared with me his passion is running, he is compelled to do it. The physical pain and sacrifice in conditioning causes a body to be naturally sleak and lean because the physical requirements of burning 10,000 calories a day does not allow for excess fat.

Looking from the outside at success, we beleive they are successful because they have this, or their background included that. The truth is all you need is a burning desire, and a strong work ethic. Then just show up everyday, and do the work. it really is that simple.
