I started reading this book last year but never got anywhere, I saw the book at my dad's office and took it to read. He had others like this but I didn't ask him if he had finished them yet, I love the heading so I took it to start with. I kept it safe and far from the reach of my brother, because he always find something and ends up turning everywhere to chaos, so I didn't get to see it most of the times to read it.
Still, now I haven't gotten to page one, am still on (xvii) and that had a subheading that says
I like the book, maybe it's because I don't read books that often, but I know saw some things inside that I will like to highlight as an entrepreneur
Retaining Consumer
In the second sentence of this paragraph, it brings about something that some of us are already doing. and the fact that others are not doing the same is more likely to lose the costumers. What is it? Retaining of costumers. I will like to highlight one-way people are not retaining their customers.
The pitch, we see lot of people doing this and some are making thousands from it, they are might gain the from it but they are only after sepereting you from your money, it's not wrong to get money from the product you sell online but is whats you are selling really working the way you talk about it? The first digital product i bought says i don't have to do anything, just check your Paypal or paycheck everyday to see what you got today, I was a fool, i though it will be like that and i bought all that i was asked for and even more, the product he says i we can advitered another that worth $1000 but we have to send message to the owner to get the link to advertise it, or buy the product so we can advitezied it. i bought the product along with the someother things to boost the sales and nothing comeback to me.
That wasn't the most painful part, i send a mail to him telling him what i am facing but the reply was "i don't want to be disturb" and some other rents.
This is the part were listnerds and someother platforms are taking the lead on. Building a community or in other words retaining there consumers, showing up and helping them to be active.
whatever business you are building or something else, we all have to try to retain our consumers.
Service
Now that we know that most people on their business are already doing this, we need to have something that will give us the winning edge. What is that? SERVICE.
According to the picture there, the average business now have already taking the steps to deliver the best and retaining their customer, but there is only one way to stand out from the crowd and that is providing the best service. This can be applied in many ways, as service for one business varies from the other, the more you see what service best suit the needs for your customers the more you are taking the steps of being exclusive on what you do.
Final words.
I am not here to just preach but i will be practicing what i preach, i need to do more to give give better and more meanfull posts and be reply to people comments. I also need to be dynamic as i know that people i am talking to are from different parts of the world.
Thats all friends

The book reminds me of Carnegie's "How to win friends and influence people."
I agree, the more diligent I am with my existing clients, the more they seem to purchase from me. Putting energy into existing relationships is so much easier than developing new ones.
You are correct @hariton, Keeping customers is more valuable than getting new ones. A balance of both is ideal. Just think how much you will get from the book once inside.
Coming here from ListNerds. Thank you for the book review. I have added it to my read list. At the moment I have 6 books ahead of it but I may move it up.
I have to agree that customer retention is a good thing. I see so many things that throw away long-term retention in things like games. It's hard to build a reputation but easy to destroy.

Yes Man, it just takes 2 or more major mistakes to get the business come cashing down.
One of the biggest lessons ever....It's a lot easier to 'sell' to current customers when they feel valued and appreciated. I'll have to take a look at this book man, thanks for sharing with us on ListNerds!
I actually agree about the point of customer retention. I have too many examples to cite IRL.
Great post. Glad to have seen it on ListNerds!

If you want to build a reputable long term business then offering a good service and retaining your customers is a very good idea, unfortunately people are earning a lot of money by selling these shiny hands-off moneymaker "scams" to "newbies"
