I read a comment from an affiliate marketing forum the other day. I just can't get it out of my mind.
The comment was about promoting/marketing on social media networks. The gist of the comment was that "I have never done social media marketing. So I will start with the most popular."
That statement destroys the idea of focusing on a target market or building a business in a niche.
If someone is going to build a niche-specific business, then they should understand the people that are in that niche.
Learn, understand, and know your target audience!
All kinds of demographic data are available online. So there is no excuse for not defining your audience.
Particularly, when it comes to social media.
I chose the image above because the age groups are broken down by color.
The following chart shows a great deal more social media demographic data.
Successful entrepreneurs know their target audience. One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is trying to sell to everyone.
They start by defining their ideal customers by creating a profile.
I hope this information helps you identify your target audience.
