I have used many safelists but List Nerds has definitely turned out to be one of my favorites not only because of the three ways to make money. Which are proof of reading, proof of writing, and staking.
All done on the Hive blockchain with the List Nerds and CTP tokens.
There is one thing that has gotten my attention though, and that is the way people can promote their Hive Posts.
You can find posts on numerous subjects so I think it has become a content finder for Hive and other social platforms.
There are not very many of the type of ads that you will find in other safelists. People seem to not like ads and downvote them while upvoting Hive posts.
It might all be a sign of the way social platforms can change online marketing or maybe it is because of the block chain.
Either way it is a good way to find excellent content.
So if you are a blogger or have a podcast I think List Nerds can be a great way to get your content discovered.
It is also a great way to practice making your mails better.
I love to discover great content.

ListNerds is certainly a hybrid type of mailer. You are right, there is very little advertising and an abundance of posts from various authors.
This is not what I expected with the relaunch, but it has been a very pleasant surprise.

In the beginning, I did downvote some of them mails that were only ads but after a while, I decided that my limited votes are better used to reward the good content that people are sharing than to downvote the ads.

I am getting some first-timer visitors to my hive post that I promoted via #listnerds. It means, your statement is quite true. They discovered my posts from listnerds.
However, some mails with a hive link are also getting downvotes. So, the downvoters, I don't think, judge the content of a mail. They just practice their freedom (!).

Excellent nerdy post @alente - you covered a lot of what ListNerds has benefited from being on the HIVE blockchain; but how HIVERS has benefited from ListNerds is much more impactful than your run of the mill safe list or viral mailer.
I still use those, but for the most part you will never get the true essence of engagement with a thriving community that will enhance you or your brand than this blockchain.
Let’s not forget, that transparency on the chain - in my humble opinion - is huge here too.
ListNerds makes a great bridge to HIVE - like you covered in core ways.
