Hello and welcome to the first release of CS:GO News - a place which contains all the latest information about the CS:GO scene and more. Lets get right to it!
As the finals of ECS Season 3 concluded yesterday, the one to take the trophy was SK Gaming. The Brazilian team took home a prize of $250,000 as well as joy for their hardened fans. The final match between FaZe and SK Gaming was played in a BO3 format. FaZe managed to pull the win on Mirage with a 16-11 score. On Inferno and Train, SK Gaming clinched both of the maps in overtime with the same exact results of 19-17.
SK Gaming's best appearance and MVP award was given to Fernando "fer" Alvarenga, who racked an amazing 87 frags in all three maps combined. Fer was the highest rated player both in the semi-finals as well as the finals. This is fer's first MVP award.
This is his as well as SK Gaming's second 1st place LAN tournament event in a row, the first one being DreamHack Open Summer 2017 where they beat fnatic in the finals.
The Miami Flamingos have announced that the Mexican player Edgar "MarkE" Jimenez has officially been permanently signed. He will replace Cristian "Proxure" Rojas who was unable to play for the Flamingos because of his Visa application denial. MarkE has gained a significant amount of experience, playing for the team NRG for up to six months before being put on a bench position. During those times, MarkE has competed in the Copenhagen Games as well as other big leagues in the region. The Miami Flamingos state that it was a necessary decision to pick up MarkE, because the approval of Proxure's Visa could have taken a long time and the team needs order as well as stability.
Adam "friberg" Friberg has announced that Ninjas in Pyjamas have decided not to renew his contract. Friberg stated that considering NiP's results for the last six months, it was an understandable decision and they needed a change. Instead of friberg, Fredrik "REZ" Sterner becomes a part of NiP.
