🗞 Reverse Merger Could Take Bithumb Crypto Exchange Public in the U.S.

Singapore-based holding firm Blockchain Exchange Alliance, which has a controlling stake in major crypto exchange Bithumb, is looking to list in the United States by acquiring a publicly traded company in the country, CNBC reports on Jan. 22.

According to CNBC, a publicly-traded holding company called Blockchain Industries announced that it had a binding letter of intent with Blockchain Exchange Alliance. Acquiring a publicly-traded company, or a so-called reverse merger, can be a faster way to take a company public than a traditional Initial Public Offering (IPO).

🗞 NYSE Operator’s Long-Awaited Crypto Platform Bakkt Announces New Key Vacancies

Bakkt, the cryptocurrency platform created by the operator of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), announced that they are hiring for a number of high-up positions in a tweet Jan. 22.

The Intercontinental Exchange’s (ICE) much-awaited crypto platform published a list of eight evidently new vacancies at the company, all of which are based in Atlanta and New York City. Some of the positions also have Hong Kong, Tokyo, San Francisco, London, Tel Aviv and Singapore listed as available locations.

🗞 Bitfury Releases Merchant, Developer Tools for Bitcoin’s Lighting Network

Blockchain technology firm Bitfury has released a suite tools aimed to drive adoption of bitcoin’s lightning network.

Although the network is still under development, Bitfury announced a comprehensive product list to support the tech on Wednesday, including an open-source lightning wallet and hardware and software tools for merchants and payment processors to accept payments. It also released developer tools and a public lightning network node called “The Peach” to let bitcoin users open or create payment channels.

🗞 Hollywood Actor Kevin Connolly Directs New Television Pilot ‘Cryptos’

The North American Bitcoin Conference in Miami had a surprise visit last Thursday when Kevin Connolly, the actor from the HBO series “Entourage,” announced a new television show called “Cryptos” is under development. Connolly hopes the new show will help the public better understand the innovative cryptocurrency ecosystem.

🗞 $16 Million Now Believed to Have Been Stolen in ‘Weird’ Cryptopia Hack

Details have so far been murky regarding millions of dollars worth of tokens stolen from New Zealand-based cryptocurrency exchange Cryptopia on Jan. 14. But data company Elementus has been investigating and now says the hack was different from previous attacks of this nature – and the amount stolen is much higher than originally thought.

Last week Cryptopia became the latest exchange to be hit by an attack. The Christchurch-based platform had initially announced that it had taken down its services for “unscheduled maintenance” before revealing it had “suffered a security breach which resulted in significant losses.” Since then, details have been unclear and the amount lost has not been made public. Police in New Zealand announced that they were working with the exchange to figure out precisely what happened.

The STEEM is consolidating after the nice UP of the last days but even during that consolidation phase, the BTC is helping us to have a little UP. As you can see, we broke the support line during the false Break Out on the BTC but we went back just upper after the start of the UP on the BTC. Let's try to stay upper than this line and have a nice new bounce from it.
