RE: Paytomat xo Steemit

in #cryptopayments6 years ago (edited)

Personally the rewards on the steem blockchain should be the last thing mentioned. Instead my feeling is community should be highlighted. Fun with contests and, oh by the way, did we mention that folks could receive rewards in the form of the crypto currency STEEM?

It gladdens me to see the reward only seeking users have jumped ship in this bear market. Good riddance! We certainly should not be encouraging more and focusing on payments in my opinion.

What about anti-censorship? No data mining? There are a ton of reasons for good contributors coming onboard with the added bonus that they could get rewarded.

My thoughts on recruitment, anyway.

I agree with this. Steem has been branded as the blockchain where you can get hundreds of dollars for low quality posts long enough, and it attracted the wrong crowd. There's so many better things to promote about Steem!

No data mining = less profitability for ads = no ads = no external fiat income streams = Ponzi = prize goes to zero eventually.

It's definitely possible to have ads without data mining. It's just not as profitable as with data mining. But Steemit.com could easily display somewhat relevant adds by tying the adds to the tags for the post. So if a post is tagged with lots of food tags, it could display food ads, which would likely not be that ineffective compared to targeted ads.

There could be some algorithmic analysis of the post content as well. But I think it's a question of time when someone implements mining based on all user data. It's all public and freely available after all and has been from the start.
