Am I missing something here? Free farmers? I tried both the Ether Shrimp and Ether Croc. I had to pay to have any Shrimp (like $.50 USD worth) and now have no ETH remaining. I tried to get the Free Crocs in the Croc Farmer game and it requires payment (see image):
This, to me, is a load of horse manure. I think this is a complete lie and only helps people that are willing to pay exorbitant amounts of ETH in the thin hope of making something at all.
On top of that farce, I have now 4 shrimp from the 300+ that I bought for hatching. I will not be able to do anything with them because it costs ETH to hatch shrimp and I have below the bare minimum to even hatch the first shrimp. Now that I have 4 ready to hatch it gets worse, so it's just a load.
If you have any information on how I can make any ground without having to buy in, then please let me know how. Otherwise my experience would be rated a 1 out of 5.
The Ether you are paying in that transaction is just the gas fee required for it to be accepted by the blockchain. It is given the the miners of the network and none if it is given to ether shrimp/croc. The hope of playing this game is that eventually you will be making more Ether than the fee is. That is when you will start making money.
If you want, you can choose how much you want to pay for the gas price in Metamask. But, if you lower it too much, it may take a long time to be processed or may never be processed by the blockchain.
That’s not accurate either because there are upper limits. Therefore, you and everyone else that is saying “play for free” is lying to the potential community. It’s not free if you can’t do anything; and you cannot do anything without at least a tiny bit of ETH. Even if the amount is negligible, it’s still more than zero and, therefore, not FREE.
