Hey Steem Community! I wanted to share some super down to earth, simple instructions for how to set up the new bond dapp from the guys over at Expanse (EXP). They have a new form of "staking" or "POS" that essentially is a smart contract created to work like dividends from stocks. If you hold EXP, offline, in their Bond Dapp, you will receive 12% annualized return on your investment in the form of EXP tokens. Tell that to your banker buddies. (by the way I have no affiliation with them, I'm not an investor, do your own research before investing in anything).
So I'm trying to keep my posts short so this was the response I threw out to the slack community after I got the new dapp to work in a matter of minutes. It's important to note, I'm not a programmer or some tech genius, this is simple shit. So If you're interested follow these simple steps. If this doesn't work, re-install it. I had to one time but then it worked. Keep in mind, these instructions were written to be as simple as possible, so if this doesn't work, jump on their slack channel and ask for help.
Went to https://github.com/expanse-org/bond-dapp, downloaded expanse-bond-dapp-win32-ia32.zip.
Sent it to winrar. Found the expanse-bond-dapp.exe (has a logo next to it). Opened the program like any other program, clicked on create your own node.
It synced automatically with my mist-wallet (http://www.github.com/expanse-org/mist/releases). I selected the account with my EXP in it. I clicked on that account, selected the option to put in EBS under manage accounts.
Typed in the amount I want and verified with my bond password. It is still syncing but it was super simple.
Under manage accounts, select deposit into EBS.
Congrats! You won some Bonds. I'm not a smart man, you can do this.
How much money for one bond?
Smallest amount is 100 EXP. It seems like a pretty good deal now that we've come though a healthy market correction. Earn 12% on an asset that's likely to appreciate relative to BTC while BTC is appreciating relative to Fiat. Brain = 0.
