One Of My Favorite Crypto Wallets!!!

Hi Steemians!! Today I just wanted to share with you one of my favorite crypto wallets that I personally use myself and that all crypto enthusiasts should try out!

First of all, for all the people who are new or even experienced crypto steemians, one of the most important thing about investing in crypto's is to figure out how to keep them safe.  This is always a dilemma we are faced with after we purchase our first Bitcoin or alt coins.  We have many options which makes it a difficult decision as we try to choose the safest and easiest to use, especially if we are noobs.

Some of the main choices are paper wallets, hardware wallets or online wallets like Exodus.  But today I will only cover the online wallet Exodus.  Its so user friendly and easy to use that any noob can figure it out.  Disclaimer: (Screenshots with money shown are screenshots from the Exodus website I took from my laptop and edited in photoshop)

So lets dive into it and take a look.

You can download this from www.exodus.io and it supports Windows, Mac and Linux, which is great since everyone has at least one of those!!  So once you download and install it onto your computer you can open it up and it will look like this, but of course without the money.  Below is the portfolio screen which is very nicely done as its visually appealing and it updates in real time if your connected to the internet, which is pretty cool!

So at this point you can't do much until you make your first deposit.  So what I always do is I always make a very small deposit first just to make sure it works.  Now to make your first deposit we need to click on the wallet tab on the left and this is how the screen will look.

So for now Exodus only supports 7 cryptocurrency's (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Augur, Golem, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Dash), but I'm sure most people have at least one or two of the following and i'm sure they will be adding more over time.

Click on the receive button and a unique address for whichever coin you want to deposit will appear.

You even have a QR code to scan if you want and 3 buttons to easily copy, print or email your address.  If you want to view your transaction, there is also the view on blockchain button.  IF YOU WANT TO REFRESH OR SCAN FOR YOUR TRANSACTION JUST CLICK ON THE COIN SYMBOL!

Next is the settings screen so that you can only select the coins that you have and based on that it will hide all the coins that you uncheck and show only the ones you check off on the portfolio page.  This is great if you only want to see the coins you hold.

The Exchange function is cool, as you can exchange your crypto's for any other crypto's that Exodus supports which is the 7 I listed above.  This makes it very convenient for someone who doesn't want to transfer their coins to an exchange to have to sell it and then buy another crypto and then have to send it back to Exodus.

Lastly and the most important tab is the Backup screen where you need to backup all your private keys for your Exodus Wallet.  Only after your first crypto deposit, can you use the backup tab.  Use this to create your password to login to your wallet and receive your 12 word backup phrase.  REMEMBER TO RECORD AND KEEP YOUR PASSWORD AND BACKUP PHRASE STORED SECURELY.

I love using this wallet and would highly recommend it for people to use, but I would caution people from storing all their crypto's on one single wallet as we all know that we need to keep them safe from hackers.  You can also change the background and customize your wallet to your liking  and after you make a deposit your wallet makes a cool Coin noise!! So you always know when your transaction is complete.

I hope you enjoyed this post and give Exodus a try!!  Please Upvote, Resteem, and Follow me @xredsoulless!!

Do you make your backup phrase after transferring money to the wallet??

Yep, after your first deposit and just make a very small deposit first, then do all your backup.

Ok cool thanks for the response. I have the wallet but got nervous when it never asked for my email or showed a backup phrase. Thank you.

Your welcome and glad it helped! :)

Very useful information thanks

Thanks @uplus
I've used many different wallets and this is my favourite of them all :)

This is good stuff! Thanks for sharing. Threw you a follow :]

Thanks for sharing @xredsoulless.

Great wallet, try Jaxx aswell, they gonna add a lot of coins soon! Glad you pointed the refresh button out, it was a pain for me the first time I used the wallet and my balance was not correct! After refreshing everything seems to be fine!

Thanks, I use Jaxx as well, but the thing with jaxx is can you add a password on it when you open it? I click on mine on my mobile and it just opens right up no password required. Lol that coin refresh button also took me a bit to figure out.

hi again, i've downloaded and installed exodus. It doesnt appear to require a passoword to open - is this correct? :)

nope, you need to setup your password when you click backup
