Is LightCoin poised to make a huge jump like Ethereum did? I think so. There are a couple of factors that I think are helping the price go up over 40% in a week and hopefully more in the near future.
Here are some of the things I considered when I bought in a couple days ago before this last big bump, but I don't think it is over. Not at all. I think LightCoin still has a long way to go and here is why.
1. Charlie Lee is back. The creator of LightCoin went to work for Coinbase for a while and just quit last week to focus on LightCoin. This was the main reason I got in when I did. Just today he posted a tweet saying "Litecoin hit $49 on GDAX, breaking all-time high of $48! I should have quit Coinbase sooner."
2. They are complete with SegWit and moving forward. Bitcoin is still dealing with SegWit. Link.
3. It is on Coinbase and the most reasonably priced coin for new investors. Why does that matter? Coinbase gets a lot of "new to crypto" people. Smaller investors that invest $25-$100 a week and crypto is really becoming more popular. Still incredibly far from being mainstream.
4. After the big sell off last week across all cryptos, LightCoin was the only one that really held it's value and didn't fluctuate that much. It signaled to me that it was the most undervalued at the time. I think it still is undervalued.
5. Ethereum has been sucking all of the air out of the room for other cyrptos lately. They are getting the best press, but I still see LightCoin pop up here and there. Bitcoin, Ethereum and thanks to Dennis Rodman the PotCoin have been all over the news, but the only other one I hear on mainstream media outlets on a semi-regular basis is LightCoin. It is starting to get attention.
So should you buy LightCoin even if it is close to it's all-time high?
Yes, well I am. You can do whatever you want.

I predicted LTC a while back would run to almost 50, the same reasoning tells me that Ripple will be next. I have noticed the bigger cryptos take turns, while others rest. LTC was resting until yesterday, and Ripple is still resting.

I just bought $10 worth of LTC today. Wish I would have held onto what I had back in 2014 when I first got into mining. I'd be filthy rich right now! lol
I wish I had gotten into it earlier too. lol. There are always going to be things we should have done, but I try to focuses on the wins I do have. It is tough though. I bet in a year we'll be looking back like, damn I wish I bought more LTC at $50. lol

Litecoin has a role as carrier coin and base currency in a lot of coin trade pairs. A real work horse that has been in the dark for too long.
