Rise is a platform for decentralised applications, which are booming at the moment (as seen with the price increase of Lisk).
Rise plans to increase the accessibility of the platform to developers by offering Software Development Kits (SDK's), which support multiple programming languages: JavaScript, Python, C#, Ruby, and JAVA.
What further sets them apart from their competitors is the vision of implementing an infrastructure which makes it extremely easy to develop apps on the blockchain, e.g. through drag and drop. So ideally in the future people could design their own dapps, even without a phd in computer science, just like almost everyone can create their own website or blog with the help of some easy tools.
In addition to the development platform, Rise offers an incubator service for developers to help create their own blockchain projects. Currently there are two projects going on - Chipz, a fully operationally built casino, as well as Interlet, which is in direct competition to Airbnb.
Development started already years ago, with the majority of the development team hailing from the previous project crypti (similar to Ark and Lisk). However, since the IPO 2016 things have been very quiet, with many holders of the coin being disappointed.
The project however is still ongoing and the team is actively making new updates, which is why we can see a clear uptick at the moment.
The team is easily accessible on slack and chatting with the community almost daily.

The members being open and transparent, as well as being experienced in this realm makes this an interesting project to look out for.
Financially the project is stable and there seems to be a resurgence with regards to the community of rise, as seen with the high activity on channels like slack, as well as a rekindled interest in the reddit forums.
Currently the market cap is at about 14 million dollars only. Drawing parallels to Lisk and Ark it is easy to see this currency achieving great success in the future and an ROI of 20x, from 12 cents to 2.50 dollars, may well be attainable in the not so distant future.
Also worth considering, due to the DPOS-type a regular coin income stream through voting of delegates is possible. Furthermore, given the incubator model of Rise, 20% of newly issued tokens are given for free to holders of Rise.
Summing up, to those of you who are looking for an interesting blockchain platform coin to invest, with a zeal for risky investments (and consequently high upsides), Rise seems to be a project worth looking into!

Great post @waitingforgodot Looking forward to see what happens as people continue to learn about Rise.
Excellent! Just did a little diddy about Rise myself. Check it out and leave your address for the giveaway.
if you got in by the time I wrote this you would have just x3 your investment ;)
In hindsight investing in Rise was a great example of not putting your money into a speculative shitcoin. The project is likely a scam and a good lesson - glad I did not put too much into it, but disappointed I did not sell earlier.
