The recent downturn of the crypto-currency market has not deterred nor swayed away hard core crypto-enthusiasts. In fact, ICO's and even block chain forks continue to take place in the crypto-world. One of the latest forks to be announced is that of Litecoin Cash, which was presented to the crypto-world on February 3rd.
On February 3rd, the team for Litecoin Cash made their announcement official on the Bitcointalk.org forum found here. The fork is scheduled to take place on Monday February 19th, 2018. The time is subject to change but is scheduled to take place when the block 1371111 is found. At this point, holders of Litecoin can claim 10 Litecoin Cash (LCC) for every 1 Litecoin they hold once the fork goes live.
Litecoin Cash appears to have many improvements over Bitcoin and Litecoin. Litecoin Cash will be based on the SHA256 algorithm but with much shorter block times. Block times will be shortened from 10 minutes (Bitcoin) down to about 2.5 minutes on average, speeding up transaction verification times. This will lead to a 90% reduction in transaction fees while increasing transaction throughput. Mining difficulty will be adjusted with the finding of each block, allowing for a smoother mining process when finding blocks and verifying transactions. So far there are no future pricings for LCC, but if we go off Litcoin's price of $160, and holders of LTC will receive 10 LCC for every 1 LTC, that puts each Litecoin Cash coin at around $16 US Dollars. This is just a guess as to what the price will be, but I am sure that as the Fork nears, a price will soon be listed on something like Coinmarketcap.com.
This is not investing or trading advice. This is simply information with relevant links for you to do your own research and diligence.
Stay tuned for more information coming soon!
UPDATE: As of now, it looks like the Fork will take place on late Sunday February 18, but this is not certain yet.

Nice post sir.Your correction is almost good.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks sir
nice share, crypto never die
This post has resteem
If we unplug the Internet it does have the potential to die! But since we are all addicted to this I'm sure it won't happen anytime soon. If it does happen then it's back to hoarding gold! But right now crypto is like gold in 1848. Get in early before your friends and hoard as much as possible... In 10 years we will get some serious AI robots that will hoard coins too. But singularity still at least 10 years away so still some time left to gain a profit...
in the future we work on screen, meet people on screen and internet as connector.
I believe blockchain will replace bussiness platform..like android and ios
I dont really like forks. People like the free coins but it dilutes the market with another similarly named coin that could confuse new people
Just go and look at coinmarketcap if you want to get more confused. There we can already see these other coins as well! Lol. I'm guessing most of them are troll trying to use the same name to get some people to buy the other coins... All this as you say will confuse people a lot! That's why it's the best to just focus on a few coins and really keep your eyes on them. On the other hand it's very exciting as well that lots of stuff is happening. So much potential!
I had no idea those existed!
Good!! Too many coins in head will make you lose faith in humanity lol! 😹 But we will still make them gains to the moon right. 😼 🚀 Steem Dollar above $5 dollars again! I hope it goes up to that $7 dollar range again! It seems to have a life of it's own! Bitcoin only up 2% so it doesn't follow that coin that much.
I made more from sbd in 2017 than any other coin. Litecoin was number 2
Would be awesome to have some Steem Dollar when it hit 14 dollar or 22 dollar last year. Sort of feel that it will happen sometime again but now people are paranoid about holding that SBD since they know it may be pegged back to 1 dollar again!
Think it will be great for many creators when it hits 1 dollar again to heavily invest then in the platform since many will stop. That will decrease the competition great for opportunists! And will make it calm for a couple of months before the service ramps up again with new attention. Probably when Bitcoin goes on a bull run late 2018!
good to see you and thanx sir for share this update post.upvote and resteemd@streetstyle.
nice post.....
I am hoping that its happens as your saying
I am not really sure what to think about that...but hey free coins
I'm not going to complain about free money but Charlie Lee said to be weary of any fork. So protect your private keys and make sure you're holding them personally.
I am holding both private key and fork personally just to be on the safe side! 😼
pckin classic. :)
Will this be more of a Bitcoin Cash ie some adoption or will it be like Super Bitcoin or Bitcoin Diamond ie barely even traded?
Hard to say @rulesforrebels but Litecoin itself is gaining more popularity, so this could bode well for LCC.
Very Informative post sir :) Thanks for sharing us
@upvoted
So will there now exist both Litecoin and Litecoin Cash? Just as we have seen with Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash? 2.5 minutes of transfer time that is not faster than Ethereum right? My Ether transfers usually go super quick. I see that the block time is 2.5 minutes on both regular Litecoin and this new Cash variant.
So the speed seem to be the same but with better protection just and more in numbers? And yes smaller transfer fees! Thanks for the update. Lots of things to keep track of in the Crypto space. But these guys seem passionate about what they are doing!
Yeah sure. Would certainly do my own research.
Forks are great News to Me.
Haven't rally paid attention to Litecoin cash prior to this post. Butbwould surely do and get back to you.
Feels great when we get to read information as vital as this.
Thank you @streetstyle for sharing.
UPVOTED
That would be a good guess if LTC diluted 10:1. However, a lot of people are using LTC and nobody is using LCC. To estimate the price you would have to find the level of LTC that matches the demand of LCC at launch and divide that price by 10.
Thanks for the smart input @samuel-swinton as I was just assuming this to be more like a stock split, but your response makes much more sense, therefore I imagine LCC being more at $1.60 than $16 as I stated above. Thanks again.
That's a similar proportion of ETH to ETC so you are probably right.
I have my LTC save because i like free coins in the case they give the new ltc to the addresses holders, but i think ltc cash is just a joke just see the team friend. Regards
Good thing is no one has to invest any money, unlike in an ICO. Also, before collecting the Litecoin Cash, be sure to remove the LTC to a different wallet before trying to collect your LCC, just in case it is a scam. If you disclose your private keys when trying to collect, and the wallet is not empty, and this turns out a scam, then your LTC wallet can be emptied, so be careful and wise. Ask any questions when in doubt @dim753
Sure friend, i don't believe in this fork and i hold my ltc coin in my exodus if they support the fork i will have free coin otherwise i will continue holding my coins as i've been doing it. Regards
Everyone can learn from reading this convo.
If it's a scam then we should have some new remix videos on YouTube that perhaps can outperform the BitConnect videos... Since I think many can fall for this when it looks so legit. But then they should have a launch party first to pump that Litecoin Cash. I guess people will learn eventually that many things in this industry will just turn out to be a scam in the long run. Especially stuff that sound too good to be true.
How would you prove you own LTC if you empty one of your LTC wallets? And by "empty" I assume that means you'd be transferring it to another wallet.
Wow it seems Litecoin cash is really upping the ante in making It one kg the best coins, the truth is many people has lost faith in some coins when the market was going all red, I'm glad for their initiative it will help foster believe again.
ltc has good reputation in coin market, though it price low, but litecoin cash sure help to enrich its place and hold its position back, hope people will benifitted from that, thanks bro.
don't mind @streetstyle i am a noob in understanding which is a scam or not but many people recently said it was more like on the scammy side so
It is a free coin @blazing but yes it could be a scam to steal your litecoin.... so if anyone decides to try to collect their "free" Litecoin Cash (LCC) coin, they better empty their original Litecoin wallet and put the Litecoin in a different wallet. Only then would I try to collect my supposedly "free" Litecoin Cash tokens.
Great to know about this fork happenings will try to grab this one thanks for sharing it bro :)
Thanks for sharing the important information.....crypto currency is a smart currency..... lite coin cash can be help the people .... your all information is really very good ...thanks again...

Another fork is here ...thanks for sharing in details about it would need to know more about it at which exchange will support
Yeah i came to know about this fork from a friend of mine but this is a fork if one get they need to be very careful :)
Oh, you are right, man! I almost forgot that there will be a Lightcoin Fork.
It's not too bad to get some before it happens.
Thanks a lot for reminding, I will go and browse through all information about the upcoming event.
hard forks is like simple money bcc was used as useless at first but it did a great work for those who hold it
I tried to find any information about it but, there is nothing on the official page.
I've just read the tweet from Charlie Lee, he says it might be a scam.
What do you think about it, Street?)
I think it is Free, but one must be careful since it could turn out to be a scam @sadpotato
i would try to share it with my friends who hold litecoin must be great for them to grab some extra :) resteemed
thanks for this information but a little doubt do i need a full ltc or even in fractions it will work ?
I believe fractions should work too @eyelashe For example, holding 1 Litecoin in your private wallet will net 10 Litecoin Cash coins, so a 0.5 Litecoin should get you 5 Litecoin Cash @eyelashe
Good luck and be safe.
thanks for telling about this hard fork that is happening i got time still
Thanks for sharing this important news about LTC with us friend, Stay blessed
great one.......nice post...........

Thanks for your good information .upvoted@steetsyle
Thanks for your information, I will be attentive to new news, greetings.
Now that is a strategic move for crypto makers to counter the negative news for coins. This could help sway investors and stay.
@streetstyle
thanks for information on litecoin cash fork comming soon like your post. it is informative.
when it comes to a fork .... eat noodles i say ... so if we still buy litecoin now will we recieve the lightcoin cash
Yes @cryptokemon , there is still time, but you must hold the private keys yourself, not on an exchange. Also, before claiming them, you should your Litecoin in a different wallet once the fork happens. This will be protection in case these guys are scammers. Good Luck.
thanks heaps.
is the Litecoin Cash favorable for new users?
It should be @diya28 since it is free, but also as long as it is not a scam.
Great quote there and nice informative post bro thanks for sharing not holding any ltc :(
What the FORK? Carry on, nothing to see here - just crypto politics... 🙏
Hi @streetstyle,
Again Great Post Share, litecoin also good Bitcoin, All Coin really nice, Thank You Sharing Nice Post
Just wrote a guide on how to safely claim from the hard-fork (would appreciate you sharing)
https://steemit.com/litecoin/@rasor/how-to-safely-and-securely-claim-your-litecoin-cash-from-the-litecoin-hard-fork#comments
just thought of a litecoin and my goodness came across your post...
thanyou for sharing @streetstyle
I'm concerned that this is a scam - they are very unclear about what they specifically think LCC will do better than LTC and if they really think they can help, why not help the dev team instead of making their own shady lookin CC?
Also, if they wanted to give out free coins during the fork they would be clear and transparent about it, instead of expecting users to move their coins to a desktop wallet and, according to what I've read, provide your private key to get your coins?
Charlie Lee is probably right, this looks like a scam, and is probably bad for CC community.
I true, i want to try this tricks, Thanks 🙏
