I posted the following in reddit to see if I can get some clarification and wanted to post here so those here like me with questions could benefit as well. I also posted the link to reddit post at the bottom so those interested can get results from this post and the reddit.
"Hello Everyone,
To start I am not a programmer or engineer but I am doing my best to learn. I have been investing in the crypto space for just a few months and through my research I discovered something I could not find an answer to so I am reaching out to the community with hopes to find some clarification.
I am wondering if anyone else has researched through Github when you search for a currency it takes you to the following link https://github.com/search?q=reddcoin&type=Repositories&utf8=%E2%9C%93 . I am just using Reddcoin and Dogecoin as examples for this post. If you look on the search results I included and under the repositories and code sections it shows results languages and after looking at Reddcoin for example versus for example Dogecoin https://github.com/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=dogecoin&type=Repositories the results differ and the date of code differ as well. Can anyone explain why the very different results when it comes to repositories , languages ? Also when looking under the actual coding being done I see some coding dated back to 2016 and then when I change the search filter to recently indexed it shows results for the different code languages but also has something regarding "mark down". Can anyone explain what would be relevant to look at here to determine the actual code being done on different code.
The reason I am asking is a buddy of mine who has been doing this longer than I said that many of the currencies actual coding as far as the best match results show code that was done over a year ago and it raised a red flag.
So I was wondering is this any indication of a red flag for anyone else? Sorry If my questions are confusing but I am doing my best to ask so when I go invest in more coins and with the very drastic rise in ICOs I want to insure I am investing in teams that are doing actual work and not just raising funds.
Thanks in advance for your help and comments."
