I recently bought some Bitcrystals on Poloniex and then noticed that it says Deposit/Withdraw is temporarily disabled.
What gives? Has anyone had this happen and can someone shed some light on why this randomly happens?
Thanks Steemians!

All these tokens are on the Counterparty Protocol. XCP so anything built on counterparty is under maintenance, including BCY, SJCX, FLDC, LTBC & XCP. I have been told by Poloniex support that the wallets should be up shortly.
You rock Satoshifpv! Thanks a ton!
Just for future reference how did you contact Poloniex support? I don't see any options for support on their site... am I overlooking it?
Poloniex customer service was very poor. I have bought BCN and later realized it was temporarily disabled. I sent support ticket with 3 follow up but still no reply from Poloniex. Deeply disappointed.
I have thousands of dollars on poloniex, I have read about problems with withdrawals...have any of you withdrawn this week bitcoin off that exchange? These nightmare stories have me worried...not to mention I bought up a bunch of factom and it's more than doubled since I bought it and now they temporarily disable it...so annoying ....why does this happen again? What causes this and is my money safe?
did you get a reply ?
Well I am having the same problem at Poloniex and still don't understand why the Temporarily Disabled is still their and it has been several days now.
Not only is my SJCX at Poloniex "temporarily disabled" (for weeks on end), I received the message this morning that upon logging in I have committed Error 1015 and an being "rate limited." The owner of the website (poloniex.com) has banned me temporarily from accessing the website. All I can say is: if the website owner continues to comport himself in this erratic manner, he will soon find himself without any customers at all.
Poloniex is acting like Gladiacoin. These mofos are holding you hostage for what's yours. I have been waiting for my withdraw for 5 DAYS. Contacted support and not a word from these ass wipes. This is the reason the public have a negative perception that crypto currencies are a scam and it is agents like Polo that's helping to support that negative perception about the crypto ecosystem. They are a well known exchange and they should be leading by example instead of appearing like a ponzi schema. Am gonna cut ties with them if ever my issue get resolve and I would encourage others to do the same.
I'm having the same issue. I've got some Steem sitting in Poloniex, that I haven't been able to get out for months! What gives?
I have the same problem. I bought it and then it's been temporarily disabled ever since. I wouldn't have bought it if I'd known. I'd be happy just to switch it to anything else, but it's forever frozen. Won't ever do business again w/Poloniex.
Good points in this article. Good to see I'm not the only one that is thinking about this. Cryptos are currently high risk. But the market will find it's way and blockchain is here to stay. Besides coinmarketcap.com there is: https://www.coincheckup.com The best crypto analysis site by far. Complete in depth investment analysis.
The only reason I can think of they would do a thing like this is that they force people to exchange the blocked currency to another in stead of withdrawing, causing an artificial rise in stead of a natural fall.
Perhaps they are earning more with exchanges than transfers, or they have a large amount of the coin they blocked and are protecting the value.
Bottom line is that they are basically stealing. In my personal experience they blocked the BCN withdrawals from the moment the coin was at it's all-time peak a few weeks ago. The high could cause massive withdrawals and possibly deposits to competing exchanges. If they blocked the coin like they did people could only take advantage from the coins in their trading accounts by exchanging them on Poloniex and not another exchange, making them more money. Combine this with keeping the coin artificially high and you have quite a solid motive.
