I can see this happening for sure. With the limitations on supply of #Bitcoin and #Ethereum, the market will undoubtedly move upward for the 'best in class' protocols. And with the network effects of digital gold (Bitcoin) and Distributed Smart Contract Protocols (Ethereum), they are both positioned to follow the exact trajectory of Metcalfe's law. This would lend them to becoming the dominant players going forward - even if something else new and shiny comes along.
