In some ways ETH is offering me greater functionality as my trading currency of choice simply through the speed of transactions, and it's availability on Coinbase for ease of exchange with fiat currency.

I suppose Litecoin offers that too, but Litecoin is not as exciting as Ethereum.

I would certainly be happy with $1000. It reminds me too, that if I really want to leverage my investment, I need to look at cheaper coins like STEEM to really get big returns in the long term.
