2 factors of cryptocurrency adoption you probably haven't been thinking about

Price is very important factor of adoption. Just by holding some cryptocurrency for extented period of time means you're helping the price rise which in turn makes more people spot some coin / invest to it.

There are 2 factors in cryptocurrecy space that you probably haven't been thinking about, but in my opinion, they come next to that widely-known factor of disruption of current worldwide financial (and not just financial) system.

  • Factor 1:
There is a whole new class of cryptocurrency millionaires out there. They even have a slang name: cryptillioners. What is important is that most of them are computer geeks. Contrary to Wall Street businessmen and brokers, they're not keen on spending their stash in a fast manner. Luxury is a strange word to them, I bet most of them continued to live modest way with more or less unchanged habits. Lamborghini means nothing to them, though they love to make memes about, but that's all. What they value the most is their free time that can be spent pursuing whatever geeky activity they please.

  • Factor 2:
It's ironic: in an attempt to preserve current outdated banking system, governments and banks are fighting against cryptocurrencies by introducing tough KYC/AML procedures, and even forbidding Bitcoin related inter-bank money transfers. It's a practical obstacle for spending the profits, but it's an obstacle that helps the booming price of cryptocurrencies. Probably some are distracted from crypto-space because of inability of easy spending, but the smart ones know that can't last forever. Blockchain technologies are penetrating to every single industry you can imagine out there, in a direct or indirect manner. Finally, you will be able to spend your favorite cryptocurrency directly in almost every on-line (and off-line shop) soon. Not to mention the availability of VISA and MasterCard debit cards which are filled with various crypto: BTC, ETH and XMR are the ones that I'm aware right now, but there is surely more to come.
