I have used Changelly to exchange crypto to crypto, mainly Steem/SBD to BTC, and their exchange rates are reasonable for that service. However, yes I have found that the exchange rates they charge for converting USD to crypto is unacceptable. I'm still looking for a service that exchanges fiat to Steem at a reasonable price.
