This Just In -- Global Blockchain Technologies to Partner With SteemIt -- 20 Million Fund To Be Created

Global Blockchain Technologies, a company focusing on blockchain related development and ventures, has announced in conjunction with SteemIt plans to form a $20 Million fund for upcoming technologies and projects being developed on the Steem SMT platform that is due to be released Q1 2018 with a testnet likely released before end of year.

Steem SMT's are going to revolutionize the web space when it comes to fund distribution and decentralized voting systems. With very minimal effort, website administrators will be able to benefit from all of the features offered by Steem on their own website.

Another notable company that has plans to deal with SMTs is Vice. Vice recently announced they will be getting into SMTs for use with their controversial "Get Paid To Watch Porn" platform.

Each of these large developments are great news for Steem and the community involved. This is very promising for future blockchain development and for the success of the entire Steem ecosystem.

This is excellent news. Lets hope they market the shit out of it to get some extra eyes on the Steemit platform.

Watch steem price as this announcement makes its rounds. steem is $0.89 as I write this.

Great news 🤗

I am really looking forward to seeing Steem and Steemit's growth through SMT's and this is just going to make even better!

This seems like very exciting news!... Hopefully this will empower the already weakened price of steem... Fingers crossed! :D

Sounds like some splendid news for Steemit and the blockchain. It has a bright future and may now enjoy the wings to rise high! Thanks for the info.

It's not on their Twitter feed yet but I'm Tweeting it. Seems like good news and good publicity. Thanks for posting this!

Great news for us!

Steem only continues to gain further traction.

Get paid to watch porn? WTF?

Now i got a few naked woman passing by, i dont want or need it, but it is a great way to get paid in steem, they all had high incomes on them pics.... so they will find enough givers and takers in that area.

nice to see steemit's influence rising

It is a great news for Steemit. There is still a lot more to leverage from Steem ecosystem.

This is awesome news! Funding for stuff! No humor implied. This is great.

Wauw this is great. The more people invest, the more positive talks about Steemit 🙌

Tolle Neuigkeiten 👍;-)

Sounds good. I want to incorporate steemit into my web services. Hope someone can get the Api.

Just fork condenser on github and run a copy of steemit on your own? Lots of people already do, or download one of the many flavors of the steem blockchain api's in ruby, python or php or node.js and rock on with services? Do note, you probably mean you want to integrate steem with your web services, steemit is just another blogging interface to steem's block chain.

Thanks @sircork Yes you are right steemit is just a service on the block chain. My application is in Perl I will have to learn which is the best fit. I know I can call python from Perl and I have to learn that language anyway form my electronic experimentation.

I used to be a perl programmer decades ago in the 90s and early 2000s before PHP kicked in. I did it for years professionally :D Wild to hear it even mentioned now.

I can agree. Perl never got popular because it had to compile on reading the code. That problem was solved handily with processing power. To late. For the compiled languages took over. Perl lost momentum during that period.

I like the idea of most of the program running on the server keeping. This way the application runs and html5 browser. I been using long enough that I can debug the code.

Excellent news and I truly hope this leads to the Steem ecosystem gaining mass adoption. And for that to happen, there has to be a lot more projects being built on the Steem SMT platform - a $20M fund is a real shot in the arm at the right moment!

Thanks for notice @netuoso - will start following you now! :)

Call me skeptical but BTC is owned by Global Arena Holdings, who at least seem to be prepping for some serious patent trolling and at worst, may be owned by big banks and concerns with a less than rosy interest in blockchains. It's news for sure, but good or bad remains to be seen. At a glance, I can see why everyone is all chipper and excited, but smell again. Does 20M seem right to you, when Ned alone is worth nearly 30% of that? It's not much money for the piece they got, but it gives them a lot of control, over what, the broken steemit site and SMTs? I suspect they came for the patents that fit in with their other ones and this has suspect future written on it for me, for now, without much more analysis than a quick googling and a gut feel for the thing, based on the low price and the particular concern making the investment.

Eh with rhetoric like "the broken SteemIt site" I'm not sure I can really get behind that.

It's a fund. Period. It means speculative gains.

Aside from that and the politics that you are bringing up I don't know, or pretend to know, much else.

A $20M fund for SMT developers is only interesting to developers I guess. Fairly so

Let me know when you get some of the 20M "for developers".

I read a little about BTC and the company that bought a large percentage of them in 2015, called Global Arena Holdings. It sounds great, but it doesn't smell good. I will be the one who sounds crazy now, and later I might be the one who was crazy then, or not. Maybe I'll be the only guy who called it right. Won't be the first time I called BS on something, got ostracized for it, and then watched as a couple months passed then it turns out I was right all along. :D

Just not sure why anyone would attack anything without having evidence against it?

I reported the news. I'm not claiming anything until it happens. And yes, I will submit a proposal when the fund actually exists.

I'm already getting some of that support.

You seem a little angry about something. Not sure I'm on the same wavelength here. You are welcome to get anything off your chest though.

Many investors worth their salt would care about developments around one of their large investments. I know I'm just a fat little minnow but it means a lot to me

Nope, not angry, possibly a bit nervous about this announcement though. I did do research, and this is the sort of thing I found

http://www.marketwired.com/press-release/global-arena-holding-sub-buys-into-blockchain-with-btc-purchase-otc-pink-gahc-2066987.htm

keywords: influence, lucrative

"Management believes that the Company is now well positioned to make significant contributions to the ongoing development of what Marc Andreessen suggests, could be the most important invention since the Internet itself. And with BTC under its umbrella, the Company intends to leverage its new competitive advantage, "using this distributed consensus model, to influence and create vertical blockchain applications that will prove both useful to the world and lucrative to Global Arena Holding," concluded Matthews."

also

As far back as 2015, this company has been buying up Block chain companies, patents and tech with the pure intention of centralizing it and profiting off it plain and simple. Their existence is kind of completely opposite what block chains are about.

Their own website even goes so far as to brag about their involvement with banks and credit unions and their acquisition side basically exists to buy up all the chains and such that they can clammer onto and ride them out.

http://globalarenaholding.com/

Makes me a might nervous, because this is like a bank or the whole "oracle will host blockchains" news - its where the power of the people gets bought out from under them, potentially.

You just have to read between the lines and apply a little wisdom. I hope in a couple months I dont turn out to be right about this like I was about your recently departed senior mod I was right about ;D

Btw not sure global arena holdings and global blockchain technologies are one in the same. Not sure if you implied that but I don't know either way. Didn't dig that deep into an announcement about a plan for 2020

yeah I 'implied' it but maybe not gracefully.

How's the solar rig working out? You were supposed to report back to me after you had it operational and let me know how it was going.

Are you boondocking or cheating in campgrounds with hookups?

I'm being a lazy fuck because utopian is taking all my focus. And I haven't sourced the best solar panels yet near me

But I'm sitting in the camper now. Just haven't actually ya know towed it anywhere yet

I've installed the 2k watt inverter and it powers my entire camper and the AC. Going to replace the AC for a more energy efficient one but I already have a fully solar setup.

Need to buy 4 more batteries and install them on the trailer hitch and I'm good

Getting the AC operational on a 2k inverter is impressive. Mine (5000btc mini window rattler in the cabin) needed the whole 5K generator to kick off and wouldnt run on the 4k solar one. :(

Global Arena Holdings is a completely different and separate company from Global Blockchain Technologies. The latter trades under the ticker BLKCF and the former under GAHC. If you feel like doing some research check out the board of directors for BLKCF.
