Right now is an awesome opportunity to invest in cryptocurreny. However, if you're broke you could be struggling to come up with any cash to put into your investments! Investing isn't the only way to get yourself some cryptocurrency though, and in this article I'll go over a few ways for you to earn yourself some cryptocurrency.
Bounties
If you bum around enough on forums or social media sites no doubt you'll find out that many cryptocurrencies have some lucrative bounties. Announcement threads or even Discord channels are a good way to find these types of initiatives. What is a bounty? A bounty is typically a reward you'll receive for completing some type of task that reflects kindly on a coin. The specific task can vary with each project, but many of them offer rewards for making videos about the coin, creating how to guides or tutorials, writing articles or reviews, posting on forums, sharing content on social media or being active in the community in some other way.
For example, DeepOnion offers bounties for those who create articles, videos, and tutorials. If you are bilingual you have additional opportunities to create these resources in the different languages you know. To enter these bounties you need to join their forums, and then be sure you abide by the rules of the bounty request. At the end of the week they review the material, and you are awarded some $Onions for your efforts.
Contests
In addition to bounties the crypto world is also full of contests that will award you free tokens or coins for winning. While there are plenty of random drawing type contests I actually prefer those which I can increase my odds of winning. What I mean by that is contests that are judged based on the effort and skill involved rather than just random luck. There's no harm entering the luck based contests either though. DeepOnion also has a contest section where they award a non-trivial amount of $Onions for entries! You can win 50-100 $Onions for your entries into categories including articles, videos, and even memes. They hold these contests every week so you have many chances to enter.
Don't forget that Steemit has lots of contests too! You can browse the #contests tag to find some of these entries though sometimes it can be difficult to sort through since many people also use the contest tag to mark their entries. If you're into writing @Originalworks hosts a writing contest every week. A sponsor, which is always some type of ICO will contribute funds for the contest, and then writers are challenged to write about the project. The best thing about this contest is that there are many winners so you have a good chance to be rewarded with at least a few Steem, and there's usually a reward just for entering if you do so early.
If you're more musically inclined than you are to writing then you can also enter #openmic to get noticed for your musical talent! If you're a musician there is an added benefit to this in that you could also get some much needed attention for your other posts for which you may be struggling to find fans. Keep in mind that to enter this contest you need to make a new live video. Other tracks won't be accepted.
Get a job!
That's not an insult. There's actually lots of remote jobs you can get that will pay you in cryptocurrency! Are you good at making explainer videos? Maybe you're awesome at graphic design? Whatever your talent is there's likely someone out there who is willing to pay you for it, and they might even pay you in cryptocurrency! Try these places for jobs!
Cryptogrind is a freelance site that allows users to be paid in Bitcoin. Their site has sections for every remote work opportunity available, and there are people there looking to hire individuals willing to work for Bitcoin. You can both post an ad for your services or you can alternatively just apply to listings. I just registered for this site a couple days ago, but I have already been invited to apply for a job here which is pretty cool.
Did you know that popular crypto discussion board Bitcoin Talk actually has a very active marketplace forum? You can search for lots of jobs here where people who are starting up or own cryptocurrency related websites will pay you to perform certain tasks for them. This can include micro tasks, creating videos, graphic designers, programmers, marketing experts, ect. Almost anyone with a skill that could be used for an ICO or coin project can find work here.
This is another freelancer site similar to Cryptogrind. They have much the same options here for jobs involving SEO, marketing, graphic design, translators, transcription, ect. I haven't had any luck here yet, but there's no harm in creating an ad for yourself!
Airdrops
Similar to the bounties section, but not quite, many coins also have airdrops! DeepOnion famously marketed their coin by way of issuing 40 airdrops! (Their drop is almost over, but you can still earn $Onions via the contest or bounty methods explained above.) However, if you want to get in on an airdrop to get coins there's plenty more of them on Bitcointalk that are giving out coins for free. Many times there will be requirements for you to get the coins. Most often this will involve sharing the project in some way such as forum posting or sharing content on social media channels.
The easiest way to find attractive airdrops is honestly just browsing around the forums. The good airdrops will likely be advertised in other member's signatures, and then you can just go join those. Often the ANN topics will also say AIRDROP in the titles as well to attract readers, and new community members.
Mining
This one won't really help you if you don't already have the equipment. However, if you have a gaming PC already then you can earn some cryptocurrency in your down time by using your hardware to mine for you. Some coins even have mining capabilities built into their wallets! However, if what you want to mine doesn't then Awesome Miner provides some very easy to configure options to help you force your gaming pc to earn its keep. If you don't have a gaming PC, but you have a mobile phone you can also try mining some Electroneum using their mobile miner.
Good read.
Are you planning to join @originalworks this weekend and write about FarmaTrust ? Your previous post about effect.ie has been really easy to read. I think you should join this contest again :)
Also I've made my first contest ever. Would you mind checking it out and sharing your feedback? And perhaps also commenting as Im interested what is your view on discussed issue:
