The latest survey shows 36% of employees are willing to receive crypto as their take-home pay. 36% seems not a big number but think about where bitcoin and altcoin a few months ago. They belong to the tech-savvy circles only. Even with bitcoin's popularity sky-rocketed in December 2017 when its price hit $20,000, a large majority of the population remained skeptical. Bitcoin was still synonymous with the tulip mania and the dot.com bust.
36% of people now like to get paid in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is huge if you try to look at it from a different angle. That's 1/3 of the working class. To put this in perspective, of the 7 billion total population, about 3 billion are employed which means over 1 billion employees are willing to accept crypto as wages. This number might be too optimistic since many of these workers are in third world countries with no or very little access to the internet.
But this is a good sign. The stage is set for the mainstream adoption of the new currency and as we move forward, this number will just keep getting bigger and bigger. There is no turning back on this. This is no force that could stop blockchain from mainstream adoption. More here: 36 Percent People Say They Would Accept Salaries in Cryptocurrency
