The title is a little intimidating, but the article itself is very enlightening. I also would like to give @dana-edwards credit for putting lots of effort into answering my novice questions. Check it out. It is one of the top articles out there, but has recieved near to no up-votes.
EDIT: He has written an article more specific to Tauchain. It's worth reading: A discussion and description of how Tauchain works by a non-expert
I cannot give investment advice so I cannot say if it's a good financial investment. In my opinion it's a good time investment. It's worth the time it takes to learn the necessary knowledge to potentially program in Tau. If you're a developer interested in writing billion dollar smart contracts or creating reliable smart contracts for DAOs or DCOs then go with Tau when it is finished. If you're in academia, in information security, interested in philosophy, then many of the topics involved in studying the design of Tau will be inherently interesting to you. Finally, we need people who have academic backgrounds who can help explain what Tau is and while I'm doing my part I cannot do it alone.
I'm not aware of a way to invest in Tauchain. If my understanding is correct Tauchain is public infrastructure, is developed entirely on a volunteering basis, may or may not use a native crypto-currency, and if it does it would most likely be distributed by proof-of-work mining. Agoras on the other hand is an application that will be running on top of Tauchain. It is possible to invest in Agoras, but this will only give indirect exposure to Tau's success, and only if Agoras itself turns out to be successful too. It's important to understand this distinction to properly evaluate the risk.
Yes, I agree. That is important to point out.
Maybe that's why the market cap of Agoras is relatively low.
Come on, Steem whales, this post by @dana-edwards is one of the most valuable inputs here, yet it got completely overlooked.

Thanks for your support. The will of the network determines the value of my contributions. If they don't value it today it is always possible they will value it in the future. In addition I'll keep posting on Tau as my own understanding of it increases every day. At this point in time the purpose of my posts is to draw attention to Tau and to help describe to people who come from a similar background what Tau is. In the future it will have to be broken down again for the layman to understand it.
To be honest, Tau is something which could be a Phd thesis and requires Phd level knowledge to understand even small parts of it. It would take multiple Phd level knowledge to fully understand it. Computer science (theoretical), mathematics/logic, and philosophy.
Thanks for posting this.
This article is about how to make 100% provable secure computerprograms and apps.
Tauchain and Agoras could also help the security of ethereum and future DAO initiatives.
If you know any other security enhancing technology then please post it here on Steem.
(I upvoted the article.)
