Japan's most popular chat application, with 168 million monthly active users, Line, can integrate crypto-coins. The company is in talks with several companies to integrate crypto-coins into its mobile payment service, Line Pay.
According to people familiar with the matter, the Tokyo-based company "is in discussions with various companies in the use of crypto-coins for payment services, including Line Pay," adding that:
"The broader goal is to create products that keep users within the Line ecosystem and keep them coming back to the application, increasing" adherence. "
Line Pay is the mobile payment service used in the chat application. Launched in 2014, it has signed agreements with more than 30 banks across Japan to allow instant transactions using its platform, according to Mobile World Live. In May last year, Line Pay reached 30 million users in Japan. Today, the application has about 168 million monthly active users in the main markets of Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia.
If these things take off then crypto's will definitely no longer be just bubbles, but fully integrated into society like we want
I agree with you. Definitely cryptos and blockchain came to stay.
