Block Array (ARY) can essentially be described as the Google for barcodes and RFID tags (used for identification and tracking purposes) - Basically, an index for identifying products. Block Array is working to provide solutions and integrations within the trucking and logistics industry.
Why is this important? Well, in December of 2019, every truck driver in the US is required to have an electronic logging device to track how long they are driving (known as hours of service) and must certify their records daily. Currently, this technology can be extremely costly to implement. As a result, Block Array is continuing to develop their mobile app (already a working product) that will enable truck drivers to initiate various events to the blockchain through its network (such as certifying daily logs to picking up cargo). One of the issues these drivers commonly face is known as detention payouts. When truck drivers are waiting for cargo to be loaded, and if the cargo is running late, they are entitled to compensation. Through blockchain technology, it's easy and quick to maintain these sort of claims through record keeping. The Block Array application can register a driver's location and prove that the driver has been waiting and also how long they've been waiting for. Block Array is essentially tracking all truck movements including all the products and services on those trucks, as well as the drivers (proof of logging and proof of arrival and departure).
Block Array is based out of Chattanooga, TN. This is significant because it is also home to the BiTA - The Blockchain in Transport Alliance. The organization is working to bring together leading companies in the freight and logistics industries that have a common interest in the development of blockchain technology. Some of these member companies (including Block Array) are UPS, FedEx, and Schneider National. This organization can ultimately help connect these companies looking to integrate blockchain technology into their systems and software.
Additionally, Block Array has a working parternship with QLINK (decentralized mobile network) - Looking forward to seeing how these two companies are involved together.
Block Array (ARY) is currently an ERC20 token, but will also be supporting the NEO blockchain through smart contracts and a cross-chain bridge for wallet addresses. The ICO price (early January 2018) was approximately $.26 USD/ARY, while the price as of writing this is at roughly $.13 USD/ARY.
Block Array (ARY) is currently traded on the KuCoin exchange. For more info including details on the team, check out the official website at https://blockarray.com/.
