I think, maybe to have both btc and altcoins. Yes btc nowadays is like a jerk jumping up & down but the thing is, most of the altcoins were just dependent on btc's performance on the market. As you notice, when btc drops - there will be a bloodbath in the market of at least 90% of altcoins plunges down. But when btc rises then eveeything follows.

So i think, better to have both btc and some selected altcoins. What do yah think?

agreed too, good to have a mix of different projects in your portfolio,

often I see alts drop against btc when it rises but stay static with USD... sometimes they drop a little against USD

I think STEEM is the best buy right now

I prefer buy some alts as Neo, Wanchain, Cardano, Icx or Ethos because i find a better probabilty to make a 3x with them that bitcoin does a 3x. Regards

I have learned the importance of Bitcoin the hard way. Here is what I am targeting for my next bull run:

  • Increase my Bitcoin by 20%
  • EOS and Ethereum
  • Keep increasing my Steem stake here
  • Stick with ripple and take the risk

Alt coins have always been a risky business but we assume that bad won't happen to us until it actually happens. So I am keeping my ears to the ground this time and consolidate like crazy. In any case I am leaning towards Bitcoin, EOS and Ethereum.

A great point out here to ponder on, but, I guess I'm just to familiar with bitcoin and I know is just a worthwhile coin to invest on now once is a known coin from onset compare to altcoins and some other coins. But I still want to conclude by saying it all depends on the risk level.

It’s definitely great to be diversified, but you made a point. At the end most of altcoins won’t survive. That’s why we should be invested at some point in bitcoin, ETH or other safer coins with more history. I do believe as well now is a very good time to add to your portfolio. Definitely much better than it was at the top. When it comes to altcoins giving better ROI based on history one thing I’ve learned from any markets. It’s unpredictable! Just because it happened, doesn’t mean it repeats itself again. You mentioned ETF’s coming to stock market. That’s right, I even heard Coinbase will launch their ETF as well.

You're right, this is where intelligent people takes action whether or not they want invest, but the truth is these reds in the market Iscariot chance being offered by people on a gold platter. Bitcoin and STEEM will always remains potentials for the future.
The panick though hasn't given people THW foresight to see right through, but if bitcoin was always high and never dipped, then how can people ever invest? A wise man's thinking.

Bitcoin is the true king. My first investing choice is always bitcoin but other altcoins also be profitable like steem, eos, doge, litecoin gives us a lot of profits. It's the best time to invest in bitcoin. Happy investing♥️

I agree BTC will always be top, as its the most decentralized and most true

I believe institutional investors are eager to invest in crypto. I also believe they are waiting for weak hands to finaly give up. Investing in altcoins could be very profitable, even more than investing in bitcoin itself, but don’t forget about the volatility it brings. Most investors sell before it actually starts being profitable just because of its volatility. As you mentioned, it’s all about where your mind is set. If you thing long therm, you should be fine. But if you thing at the moment you make a purchase it must start making profits immediately and instead it turns against you, in most cases you panic and eventually sell for loss. That’s what we are seing now. Disappointed short therm investors are selling.

I prefer altcoins. I think Bitcoin is behaving like a bitch and will continue to.
I have my eyes on neo, stellar, steem and tron

Thinking long term it seems like a good time to increase the portfolio, wise words.

louisthomas, Bitcoin or Altcoins all are depends on Bitcoin Price , Buy Bitcoin or Altcoins , they both show same behaviour because market is very low
Agreed with my statement?

I’m confident bitcoin will do very well in time, but I also have many other coins as well it’s still early days for crypto currency’s, but I still love my metals which as you know have thousands of years of history behind them and in my Opinion will be the only real form of money. Cheers mike

Bitcoin is now quite high and its first-generation Blockchain will probably be surpassed in a few years by crypto currencies Blockchains more advanced and offering something other than a simple currency: Ethereum with its smart contracts for example or Ripple whose Technology aims to replace the SWIFT interbank payment system. The best opportunities are now on the Altcoins and it is important to study the cases of uses targeted by some cryptos to achieve the best possible investments.

IMHO bear market + volatility is a bad combination from an investing standpoint. I think we have not seen the end of the "altcoin correction" by a long shot for the following reasons
1/ While there is an argument for investing in altcoins in a bull market to leverage volatility this does not apply in a bear market.
2/ Technological advances such as Layer2 solutions will invalidate the use cases of many altcoins
3/ Many altcoins are pure "vapour ware", will not deliver their roadmaps and will go to zero. When this happens there will be a flight out of altcoins
4/ There is still a not insignificant threat that future regulation will damage the altcoin space

For these reasons I think BTC and other top ten cryptos are by far the safer bet.

I think investing in Bitcoins would be better.

East or West bitcoin is the best upvote if you think the same

@louisthomas I think we should wait for few days because all crypto markets are unstable and in this situation we can't expect anything

Great insight on investing no matter what the market is doing.

el steem figura ser una buena opcion por la baja saludos desde venezuela

In my country Venezuela as expressed by my Venezuelan friend is a good option for us in the crisis should take advantage of opportunities.

very true, seems crypto is being used as peer to peer there, its a shame what happened but good and give good idea that crypto as a peer to peer is successful

Good you choose very valuable topic .

this is the time to buy some potential coins at very cheap price

You reasonbly elaborated about buying bitcoin or altcoin .can you tell which altcoin going to perform best in future?

Hello sir. Please sugest me alt coin. I wanna invest on coin

I totally agree with you!
Altcoins you are talking about are reached to surface and now they have a greater chance to go up. on the other hand, bitcoin is still handing in the air and it's not reached surface yet, it can go further down!
Thank you for kind review sir @louisthomas

i truly agree with you on this, having a good percentage of btc is really important because it's the most trustable coin in the blockchain world, but also around 40-60 % (depending on one's risk factor) must be into altcoins whose project they find really worth investing, because all of us are here to earn some good ROI right ?! :)

for sure, probably good time to consider this, still good time for buyers market,

I think that not only Bitcoin will outperform but most of the larger, established coins will do as well. They will benefit as more projects fail and the ICO market starts to dry up because of regulatory concerns and the bear market.

lets hope the bears tire out soon

Price fluctuations for BTC and ETH compared with alt coins you want to purchase MIGHT occasionally allow for a brief chance to take advantage of a price difference (arbitrage) but usually there isn't much of an advantage to using any currency to buy alt coins.

Usually the rapid AI arbitrage programs close opportunities before the average trader can catch them. And if you're buying to hold long term, the tiny differences won't matter.

Doesn't matter, it's all garbage...it's been 7 months and there is not a single sign of life for crypto.

I think it depends on your holdings, I just try to balance my portfolio with both Bluechips and alts.

Most of the replying that both BTC and Alt is the best option but for me if you really want to get good profit Alt is the always first choice ......Are you Agree ??

Agree with minority stake in a favorite altcoin or two and majority in BTC. If BTC fails then all of the current ones will as well.

The best strategy is to diversify your portfolio. Remember the saying: Don't put all of your eggs in one basket.
