Binance - Manipulating Manipulation

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Hi Guys,

Today i saw the 6th round of voting on Binance finished with the coins that were 1st and 2nd being disqualified for vote manipulation.

Binance doesn't define what it means by vote manipulation but i found something interesting.

Whats to stop the other coins from manipulating other coin votes so they win?

(try to manipulate the strong coin so it's disqualified so your coin (not the first one) it's the next one in the list that wins) sounds to me like binance have created a way for other coins to manipulate the vote by simply paying people to bot the coins that are higher than theirs.

Disqualifying for something that is out of the hands of the coins team is in itself causing something that can be exploited by other coins.

Looking at the 154k votes on the number 1 spot thats 150,000$ wasted due to a manipulated vote.

Based on this it's probably cheaper to get the other coins disqualified for vote manipulation than it is to go through the usual channels of voting cause there's no guarantee that the other coins wont do the same

I posted this on the Binance reddit and my twitter but yet to have a response.

What's your thoughts?
