RE: Crypto Investing - Best Buy With Fiat Money: Bitcoin, Ethereum or Litecoin? - Poll and Discussion

Me too. It all sounds so exciting, I just want to dive right in, but for an art person like myself, who is absolutely terrible at mathematics, engineering, programming and the like, it's really hard to get a solid grasp on the ins and outs.
Btw, I just saw a post about hackers double-spending certain things and CannabisCoin was one of them. Not sure what double-spending means, but it doesn't sound good.

I don't know what that means, either. I'll have to look into it.

I'm an artist, too. A professional writer and book author, actually. Math was my WORST subject in school. I hated it, and I had to re-take College Algebra so many times, it almost kept me from graduating college. I passed on the sixth try thanks only to a VERY generous professor. I can do a little bit of HTML programming, but other programming languages, engineering, and the math of Bitcoin are way over my head.

I'm intending to learn as a layperson, with it all spelled out for me, because once we get into numbers beyond addition and subtraction, I quickly get into "I have no idea what I'm doing" territory. I'll get there, but not in a technical way, I suspect. ;)

Oh my gosh, that sounds exactly like me! Great minds think alike. LOL I thought I was following you before, but I'm totally following you now.

Thanks, @lenadr. I appreciate it. When I make my first alt coin purchases later this week, maybe I'll do a little blog series on here where people can follow along with a total beginner as she educates herself about the world of crypto (and hopefully builds a tidy fortune along the way).

I'd definitely read that. Actually today I opened a Coinbase account - and tried to buy BTC but it wouldn't let me for some reason... working on it. But it's a good first step! :)

You typically have to have a verified bank account or credit card on file with them first. This means adding the account, then waiting a few days for CoinBase to make two small deposits to it, then coming back and telling CoinBase what the amounts were. THEN you can buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin on the site. :)

Patience, little grasshopper, patience. I am really bad at the whole waiting thing.
