lately i've been interested in investing in a cryptocurrencies. what do you guys think? i'm sure many people have seen bitcoin on tv and the internet a lot lately. a few years ago i mined bitcoin for a spell. i think i only ended up mining somewhere in the neighborhood of .001 btcs. it's not much but it was easy to get. now though. the price of one bitcoin is crazy. i remember reading an article about some guy scouring a landfill looking for his old harddrive that had like a million dollars worth of bitcoin on it. could you imagine? having bitcoin would be nice but it's so easy to lose. every few months there's another hack that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars. it would be nice to see it be more secure, which i'm sure will start to happen going into the future. this must have been what it was like in the wild west. bill the kid riding up to your bank, pulling out his gun, demanding the cash, leaving you broke, then riding off into the sunset. present day banks though, they don't get robbed so often anymore. that's probably how bitcoin will have to be. if not, they're just gonna get robbed of everything. so i'm not so sure about bitcoin.
currently i like etherium. i don't know much about cryptos but i always hear good things about etherium. it seems like it has a positive vibe to it. that certainly doesn't mean it's going to be a winner in the long run though. i tend to compare choosing a crypto to the 1984 nba draft. you could be investing in hakeem olajuwon. a hall of fame player, two time nba champion, league mvp, an excellent choice. or you could be investing in sam bowie. looks good, has some potential, knows how to play the game, absolute bust. or you could be getting michael jordan. a totally game changer. and that's the thing about cryptocurrnecy. nobody really knows about the future of it.
while i am enjoying steemit, i'm at a crossroads. i'd like to invest in other cryptos but i got cold feet. maybe if i heard some more success stories of cryptos instead of just the bad stuff i'd be more inclined to jump in. ahh the uncertainty of it all. c'est la vie ¯_(ツ)_/¯
