Real estate is property comprised of land and the buildings on it, as well as the natural resources of the land. Real estate also refers to producing, buying and selling real estate. The real estate industry is a critical driver of economic growth. Real estate throughout time and to this day remains the greatest source of wealth for most families; in fact, it is the largest asset class globally. Real Estate is the largest asset class in the world, and also one of the most inefficient.

Types of real estate:

  1. Residential real estate includes both new construction and resale homes. The most common category is single-family homes.

Also, high transaction costs and inefficiency in transactions themselves posses a problem for the consumers. Many people fear to invest in real estate because they lack global reach and fear prohibitive costs.

2.Role of middlemen

Sharing economy completely favors the idea of a transparent relationship between the host and the tenant. But currently, P2P economy is not fully implemented, because there remains a middleman in the form of а booking service or agent which takes the role of а guarantor and arbitrator in resolving disputes and nonstandard situations.

3.Fake reviews

Reviews and description and quality of amenities in rental properties on many platforms are collected by a proprietary nontransparent internal database, leading to potential abuse of the system, by changing/deleting of reviews, or host self-rating. Often, this centralized system is criticized because these platforms have an outreach to the consumers convincing them to change negative reviews for positive ones, offering refunds or making other amends.


Solutions provided by ATLANT:

  1. ATLANT strives to remedy the situation of illiquidity and opaqueness in the real estate market. Approved lawyer, or competent local authority in each respective jurisdiction, verifies legal documentation provided by the listing party and digitally signs each document pertaining to the property. This ensures that documents become immutable and virtually impossible to forge. If sometimes documents need to be updated legally, it uses ADDS versioning provided by the IPFS protocol.

  2. ATLANT has created a decentralized solution for eliminating the role of rentals. Any lessor may get listed on the platform by providing a real-world identity and sending a security deposit into the escrow contract provided by the platform. This is a protective measure against rental listing spam and ADDS bloating.

  3. ATLANT utilizes its distributed data store ADDS to solve problems of rating persistence and accessibility, while Ethereum blockchain is used for timestamping and securing data, which enforces rating immutability.
