EOS ICO a money grab scam?

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Per this thread on bitcointalk they are using the same code as Bitshares.

Honestly I never liked this project and how they plan to run the ICO for 355 days. I briefly read their whitepaper and it bothered me that it stated the tokens are not tied to the project. Plus, the founder seems to hop from one project to the next without focusing and finishing what he started. Look at Steemit for example. Has there been any updates or news? Nothing besides a fork that benefit the whales.

I think if this turns out to be a scam, ICO's in the future will have less funding as we will be more cautious with them. I have been thinking lately how easy would it be to do this?

Very easy. Look at projects like SONM, PTOY, MYST, and similar. They're all projects that are just money grabs with no real technology behind them or failed projects from day one. Too many people want to get rich quick and never do their due diligence and some "investors" are not tech savvy enough to understand. All they hear are buzz words and get FOMO'ed.

Seems like a crazy exchange ratio, turned my interest down :/
Good post!

I was never in charge of Steemit, Inc; flagged for spreading unfounded lies that are trivial to debunk with a simple diff on the code base.
