Introduction

The evolution of the blockchain and cryptocurrency has been worthy of note, ever since it's inception, cryptocurrency and the blockchain has eased into limelight, with the introduction of it's decentralization characteristic amongst many others.

In 2013, the Xaya decided to question the status quo of the gaming industry, by launching the Huntercoin experiment. This experiment proved to be a successful one, by proving the gaming industry wrong that "gaming can only run on servers"

The Huntercoin ran independent of servers and recorded a success by having 35,000 simultaneously controlled characters.

Based on the conclusions deducted from the Huntercoin experiment is Xaya built.

As such Xaya is a custom-built blockchain based on Namecoin and the research of the Huntercoin experiment, modified specifically to ensure decentralization and democratisation of the gaming industry

Decentralized gaming

Decentralized gaming helps to tackle the problems for Gamers.

Most games run in a centralized environment, which ensure no security of gamers assets. It has become a recurrent issue for gamers to lose all their assets due to crash or total shutdown of game servers or negligence of third party.

However with Xaya, gaming is in a decentralized environment and does not run on servers rather it runs on nodes.

Xaya employs it's proven technologies, to secure players account and ensure highly valued data are given a decentralized name, which is created immediately into the blockchain.

This blockchain is protected by proof of work (PoW), which will bring about game accounts and tradable in-games items.

George is a video game lover, and invests lots of time and resources to seeing that he derives maximum enjoyment from his gaming experience.

However in recent times, George has been subject to being cheated, owning to dishonest players who disrupt the proceeds of the game, by filling in for disputes when they are about to lose a game.

The dispute resolution causes him large transaction fees and in recent days George has been considering abandoning his passion.

However, he comes accross Xaya and he is informed of their Ephemeral timestamps, which aids in resolving disputes in a just and truly transparent manner.
