Since Steem has decided to cut bitcoin for payments, for reasons such as extreme volatility and transaction costs, I don't think we need to blame Blockchain technology.
Many others have seen where the category creator has fallen, so they've made transaction cost much lower and faster.
Litecoin for instance, a transaction gets completed in a third of the time and costs pennies on the dollar instead of dollars.
Crypto currency and blockchain seem too important to our future, also it runs in line with the decentralizing of things which is starting to take place in other industries.
So in final remarks, this should not be the end with bitcoin, but the Beginning of our deeper understanding of blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
