There are various angles to Cryptocurrency not just one.
It's not just "store of value" as any Bitcoin Thumper would say.
You have security.. protection against quantum computing which will hit as early as 2020.
You have scalability. I think Bitcoin can handle like 4 transactions per second.
Ethereum is like 15 transactions per second I think.
Visa and Mastercard are some ridiculous number like in the millions of transactions per second.
You have fungibility or divisibility, which just about every cryptocurrency meets.
You have interoperability. Is the coin compatable with other coins, can they interact?
Not sure what it's called, but developability? I think Ethereum has one language it can be programed in.
Neo came around and started the same thing but on a foundation that's programmable on several languages.
Ok so there's probably more of these ANGLES.. or whatever you want to call it.
Cryptocurrency is no longer SIMPLE (or generation 1.0 like Bitcoin.)
Then you had Gen 3, which is Ethereum or Lisk, or Neo, or any other cryptocurrency that you can build smart contracts on. But can it scale? Can it scale larger than Visa/Mastercard?
Ok, so if not, that will pose an issue in the future.
There is another angle like proof of stake, proof of work, or hybrid or I forget the name of the other one. Dan Larimer patended a unique version of this.. DPOS or something?
So now you know.
There's a 3rd generation of cryptocurrency.
I think it was explained in the Nexus Conference video.
May have been another video...
found it, it was this video:
Looks boring I know, but if you don't know what a 3rd gen cryptocurrency is, he explains it very clearly in the first 5 minutes.
Long story short.
Charles Hoskinson and his team of 70+ academic advisors, programmers, developers are working on a very powerful project.
It's like a massive company working on this one Cryptocurrency. (or two cryptocurrencies)
But it is one primary Cryptocurrency.
It just showed up out of nowhere...
I don't remember it ever having an ICO or anything like that.
It just arrived..
number 10 on CoinmarketCap out of the blue.
I began questioned it.
Inquiring.
The more I dug, the more I found how this is not just another coin on the block....
This could be the mother of all coins.
Charles Hoskinson.....?
Co-found of Ethereum?
Worked on several projects with Dan Larimer......
clearly he's not "just another guy" in the crypto space.
Everything I've found about this coin is very professional..
well put together....
So I thought I'd test out the Wallet..
Here's the video of the test I did:
The wallet was just released. for a wallet on the new coin it's very professional.
however, if you ever listen to Charles' plan with this wallet...
his plan is to basically turn it into a platform like Exodus and have it support more coins...
Cardano will have a credit card..
It may very well be the first 3rd generation cryptocurrency...
The sky is the limit with Cardano and it has everything lined up for massive success.
I'm very excited about this coin, can't wait to see what comes out next.
