Rakuten, A Japanese E-Commerce Giant Launched Cryptocurrency Rewards Program

Using their own developed cryptocurrency, Rakuten, the leading e-commerce platform in Japan is going to transition its rewards program to a blockchain-based system.

Rakuten's current "Super Points" program, which has long been regarded as one of the most powerful loyalty programs in the industry, will be replaced by Rakuten Coin.

Rakuten Coin will be integrated into all Rakuten's many subsidiaries such as PriceMinister, Ebates and Viber.

It is still not clear if the company will create its own controlled blockchain or will be built on top of other blockchains such as Ethereum, Neo, Stellar or Nem using smart contracts.

Gold Business Goldmoney Adds Ethereum And Bitcoin Cash Storage

As one of the largest gold business companies, Goldmoney has now expanded its BTC cold storage by adding ETH and BCH.

The company has recently announced that the two digital assets will be added to its fully reserved offline investable asset.

Clients can now directly buy AML-compliant and auditable ETH and sell their holdings back to Goldmoney as how they trade precious metals.

Goldmoney explains that clients' crypto holdings are stored in cold storage that are password protected and shielded from being used in third party transfers or hot wallets.
