RE: .

Poloniex is my favorite place to trade, best UI of any exchange I've used and easy to get in & out of positions with high volumes on the major cryptos. So that makes it even more frustrating when periods of high demand lead to poor user experiences. I'm never worried about the security of my funds, as Polo has been perfectly reliable for the 2 years I've been using it - but better safe than sorry, so I do try to limit myself to only keeping about 10% of my portfolio on the exchange at any given time (I like leaving some BTC on there to lend and have available when time sensitive opportunities arise).

Hopefully they will be successful in their efforts to scale up capacity, and in the meantime we just have to be patient with them. Polo hasn't given me reason to doubt them yet, so I'm willing to trust that they are working hard on the problem and things will get better.

Yes I agree - Poloniex has always been safe for me and I've never experienced any issues.
Only in the last month it's become annoying and difficult to trade on there due to the endless lags!
I know the traffic has increased dramatically - but still, we've been waiting for a month for this problem to get fixed and it's still there.
I wouldn't even think twice about it if it was a one-time thing, but it's been happening several times each day for weeks.
I hope Poloniex stays safe, I've already lost 60 btc on cryptsy back in the day - and don't even get me started on mt gox....

I'm keeping my fingers crossed too. I almost got caught up in the Bitfinex hack last summer. Had a lot of ETH on there, but got a funny feeling and decided to pull it out while I was away on vacation. A day after I withdrew everything, the hack happened. I still get chills thinking about how lucky I was to dodge that bullet. I've been paranoid about leaving money on exchanges since then, but so far so good.

Sorry to hear you got hit by Cryptsy and Mt. Gox, that sounds rough.
