Crypto Noob: Stage 2

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

In previous post i wrote about how i started my crypto journey and what i did initially - "Stage 1". Now, it's time for:

Stage 2: Ah-a!

I started learning about charts, TA and trading. I remember, the first trading video i watched was "Never lose a trade again" from #TrevonJames. Yes, i know, some readers may be tempted to throw this post to a bin because i mentioned him after all that fuss around #BitConnect, but i have to be honest - that video got me interested into actual trading. Prior to crypto i had no idea how market works.
I started reading tutorials, candlestick patterns, watching videos. After a week i had #TradingView running as soon as i enter my office or home. Ofc, those were the "1 minute" candles because...reasons...all blinking and flashing, much pretty, many dynamic.

One cloudy day I stumbled upon a post about "pump and dump". Oh boy... I decided to give it a shot. I opened up #Yobit account. Following the trollbox i was "hunting" for coins that are currently pumped. Few times i managed to earn something like 5%. Following the trollbox on #Yobit i've found some Telegram pump and dump groups. I felt so smart: "yeah group, let's totally pump this coin and make crypto noobs lose their money". 3 days later i was left in the open holding a bag of 32 000 SLCO coins (or maybe SLOC, i'm not sure, i never saw that coin outside of #Yobit). That bag still sits on #Yobit, for sale at 1 sat price. I think that would be the last crypto ever sold when Armagedon trumpets sound.

I learned my lesson the hard way. Despite all those Youtubers telling me not to pump and dump, i learned my lesson the hard way. Ok, i haven't lost a lot of money because i don't invest what i'm not prepared to lose, but i felt stupid. Also, that was my last major contact with #Yobit, we broke up. Ok, sometimes i go to check my shit-bag but it's like asking your Ex "how are you" from time to time. The fact that i can't withdraw 99% of coins i've got there wasn't helping either. WTF - i buy a coin hoping for an arbitrage and then i get "wallet under maintenance" when i try to withdraw? Seems like all wallets are under maintenance until they find developers to actually make them.
Reminds me on scene from "Eurotrip" movie: "Is there a train coming any time soon? Yes, very soon, they are building it now!"

I switched to other Telegram groups. I started following "anti-pump-and-dump" groups that would announce important dates for particular coins, important Twitter posts and also announce when some coin is about to be pumped by other groups, warning users not to fall for it. Thanks to those groups i found out some Telegram bots for technical analysis, i found out about few crypto-calendar websites. The most important lesson i learned in those groups is:

Really, it's like that saying "Help yourself, then God will help you too". I'm not a very religious person but that saying makes perfect sense. I had to help myself to better understand trading. It was already beginning of November. On #Bittrex i still had my 150$ worth of crypto but it was so badly divided into coins that one day i would end up having 215$, another day it could be as low as 100$. It's no way to do business! Get a grip CryptoNoob!

Next post will be about me actually making money. I started following other Youtubers as well. Some of them "like" each other so much they shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence but i don't care. I had them on my subscription list one next to another. I learned a lot, i managed to evade some "get rich quick" schemes.
Next post will be:

Stage 3: Enlightment
